Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Yield Curve" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a rates desk screen at night. Midnight green, cool mint hairlines, monospaced figures, history fading into the background while the current reading glows white.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #06201F, with a soft radial lift to #0C3431 from the top left.
- Grid, eyebrow and older series: #7FE0C2 (mint). Gridlines at 10% opacity (zero line 35%), vertical category guides at 6%.
- Current or highlighted series: #F4FBF8 (near white).
- Highlight zone and its labels: #FF8A7A (coral), zone fill at 12% opacity with 55% opacity dashed edges.
- Secondary text: #8FB3A9.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Sora for words: title 28px 600, -0.5px letter-spacing, #F4FBF8, stating the finding; subtitle 14.5px #8FB3A9; series labels 13px (the current one 700); zone label 12px 600 uppercase, 2px letter-spacing.
- Azeret Mono for every number and code: eyebrow 12px 500 uppercase, 2.4px letter-spacing, mint; axis labels 12 to 12.5px; point values 12.5px 600; stat pills 12 to 13px.

Layout:
- 64px margins. Eyebrow at y 58, title at y 96, subtitle at y 124. Two outlined stat pills top right (30px tall, fully rounded, 1px mint at 35% opacity) with a key in #8FB3A9 and a value in 600 white.
- Plot from about x 92 to x 800, y 176 to y 486. The right 100px holds direct series labels at each line's end.
- Source at the bottom left in Sora 12px, a measurement note bottom right in Azeret Mono 11px.

Axes and grid:
- Y labels at left in Azeret Mono with one decimal ("4.0"). No axis lines apart from the faint zero line.
- Category (tenor) labels 24px under the plot; labels inside the highlight zone are coral.

Marks:
- Line chart: older series as 2px smooth mint lines at 30%, 50% and 72% opacity (oldest faintest), no dots. The current series as a 2.6px near-white smooth line over a blurred 6px glow copy (45% opacity, 4px gaussian blur, filter region covering the whole canvas), with 4.2px white dots ringed 2px in the background color at every point. Value labels only on the notable points (peak, trough, last). Direct labels at the right end instead of a legend.
- Bar chart: grouped thin bars per category, older periods in mint at the same fading opacities and the current period solid near white with a faint glow, 2px top corner radius; values in Azeret Mono above the current bars only.

Labels and annotation:
- Shade one notable region (here the inverted 1Y to 5Y segment) as a full-height coral zone with dashed edges and a two-line label at its top: "INVERTED" and "1Y to 5Y −52 bp" computed from the data.

Avoid: saturated neon, a boxed legend, heavy gridlines, more than one highlight color, and proportional (non-mono) numerals.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the fading order matches the date order, the glow is not clipped at the plot edges, the zone's basis-point figure is arithmetically right, and the end labels don't collide.
