Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Strength Log" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the progress screen of a clean, serious strength-training app. Pure white, crisp athletic numerals, three confident lift colors and small PR badges that reward every new best.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Canvas: #FFFFFF. Ink #111827, secondary text #6B7280, axis labels and faint text #9CA3AF, rules #E5E7EB, gridlines #F1F2F4.
- Series (in this order): brick red #C0392B, electric blue #2563EB, graphite #374151.
- Reference series (for example bodyweight): #B4BAC2.
- Segmented control track #F3F4F6 with a #FFFFFF selected thumb.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Kanit for all numerals and the title: title 600 30px with -0.3px letter-spacing, stating the finding; stat values 600 27px with a 14px 400 "kg" unit in #6B7280 and a 15px 500 change figure in the series color; axis labels 400 12.5px #9CA3AF; end-label values 500 14px; PR tags 600 9.5px.
- Work Sans for words: eyebrow 600 11.5px uppercase with 1.6px letter-spacing in #6B7280; subtitle 400 14px #6B7280 with measure and unit; tile labels 600 11px uppercase with 1.2px letter-spacing; series names 600 13px in the series color; source 400 11.5px #9CA3AF.

Layout:
- 64px left margin. Eyebrow at y 52, title at y 90, subtitle at y 116.
- A segmented control top right (x from about 732 to 896, y 44, 34px tall, 9px radius) with three options such as 12W / 24W / 1Y; the selected one is a white 26px thumb with a 7px radius and a soft 1px shadow, 600 ink text; the others are 400 #9CA3AF.
- A row of summary tiles under the subtitle, 176px apart: a 4 x 46px rounded color bar, uppercase label, big value with unit and the change since the start. The reference series gets a right-aligned tile in #9CA3AF. A 1px #E5E7EB rule closes the row.
- Plot area about x 64 to 806, y 214 to 522, with direct labels (name plus latest value) in the 90px to the right.

Axes and grid:
- Four 1px #F1F2F4 horizontal gridlines with left labels; a 1px #E5E7EB baseline with 5px ticks and labels like "Wk 4". No y-axis line, no vertical grid.

Marks:
- Line chart: step lines (hold the value flat until it changes, then step vertically), 2.6px, round joins. Each new best gets a 4.6px filled dot in the series color with a 1.8px white ring and a tiny "PR" tag 10px above in the series color. The reference series is a dotted 2px #B4BAC2 line (1 on, 4.5 off) with a small gray label. Label each series at its right end instead of a legend.
- Bar chart: vertical bars at about 60% of the band in the three series colors with 4px top corners, value labels in Kanit 500 13px above each bar; mark record bars with the same dot and "PR" tag above the value; a reference value is a dotted #B4BAC2 horizontal line.

Avoid: area fills, gradients, shadows on data, smoothing of step lines, a boxed legend, and more than three saturated colors.

When you're done, render the chart and check that every PR dot sits exactly on a step riser, PR tags do not touch the line above, the change figures match the data, and the selected segment is clearly the middle one.
