Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Win Loss" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the league table in a sports section's results page. Condensed type, tidy mono records and a season compressed into a strip of tiny up and down ticks per team.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #F6F5F0 (off-white). Alternating row tint: #ECEAE2 on odd rows (first, third, ...), spanning x 30 to x 930.
- Win: #1B7F4C (deep green). Loss: #C2362F (crimson). Draw: #A3A09A (gray).
- Text: #1F1E1B primary, #6B6862 secondary. Strip midline: 0.8px #C9C6BE.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Barlow Condensed for words: title 700 32px with 0.2px letter-spacing, stating the finding; subtitle 500 17px #6B6862; team names 600 19px; column headers 600 13px uppercase with 1.4px letter-spacing in #6B6862; bracket labels 600 11.5px uppercase with 0.4px letter-spacing in the win or loss color; source 500 13.5px.
- IBM Plex Mono for figures: rank 400 13px #6B6862, record "16-5-1" 400 14px right-aligned, points 600 14px right-aligned, streak badge text 600 13px white.

Layout:
- Title baseline y 50, subtitle y 75, header row at y 108, then 35px rows from y 120.
- Columns: rank at x 40, team at x 66, strip from x 262 to x 648, a free label zone to about x 740, record right-aligned at x 802, points right-aligned at x 852, streak badge centered at x 898.
- Header legend centered over the strip: a 7 x 9 green chip "WIN", a 7 x 9 crimson chip "LOSS", a 7 x 3 gray bar "DRAW".
- Sort rows by points, then wins. Source line at y 582.

Axes and grid:
- No axes. Each strip has a hairline midline. A dashed 1px #1F1E1B vertical rule (2 on, 3 off) marks the midseason break through all rows, labeled "MIDSEASON BREAK" beneath the table in 600 12px condensed caps.

Marks:
- Bar chart: one slot per match (strip width / match count). Wins are 8 x 12px square-cornered ticks sitting 1px above the midline; losses 8 x 12px ticks hanging 1px below it; draws 8 x 3px gray stubs centered on the midline. Brackets: a 1.2px square bracket with 3px end tips just outside the ticks, above the league's longest winning run in green and below the longest losing run in crimson, each labeled in the zone right of the strip ("7 WINS IN A ROW").
- Line chart: the same table with each strip replaced by a cumulative win-minus-loss line (1.6px #1F1E1B, straight segments) around the midline, green dots on wins and crimson dots on losses (r 2.2), draws undotted.
- Streak badge: a 40 x 20px pill (radius 10) filled green, crimson or gray by the current streak type, text like "W4".

Avoid: rounded ticks, gradients, shadows, gridlines, a separate legend box, colored team names, using color alone (keep wins above and losses below the line).

When you're done, render the chart and check that tick counts match each record, brackets cover exactly the longest runs, streak badges match the final results, and no bracket label touches the record column.
