Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Weeks of Cover" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a modern stock planning tool in dark mode. Deep navy, soft pastel series, one clear target band, and exceptions that visibly flag themselves. Friendly but precise.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #0F1B2D (deep navy). Chart panel: #15243A. Target band fill: #1E3350, band edges 1px #4A6488 dashed (3 on, 3 off), band label #7F95B5. Gridlines: #22344D.
- Series (pastel, in this order): lavender #BBA6F0, butter #F3E18A, mint #86D9CF, peach #F8A68C. Pastels this close in lightness need their names printed next to their chips; never rely on color alone.
- Primary text: #E6ECF5. Secondary text and axis labels: #8A9AB2. Chip text: #0F1B2D.

Typography (Google Fonts): Lexend throughout.
- Title 29px 600, -0.4px letter-spacing, #E6ECF5, stating the finding.
- Eyebrow 11px 500 uppercase with 2.4px letter-spacing, #8A9AB2. Subtitle 14px 300 #8A9AB2 with measure, unit, period and target.
- Axis labels 11px; unit label ("WKS") and band label 9.5 to 10px 500 uppercase with 1.2 to 1.6px letter-spacing; chip values 12.5px 600; chip names 12px 500 in the series color; footer 11px 300.

Layout:
- 56px text margin. Eyebrow at y 48, title at y 90, subtitle at y 118.
- A rounded panel (radius 10) from x 40 to 920, y 144 to 544, fill #15243A. Plot inside from x 96 to 760, y 172 to 504.
- The right 150px of the panel is the chip column: a 44 x 22 fully rounded chip filled with the series color at x 786, value centered in navy, name 8px to the right in the series color. A 1px leader in the series color (70% opacity) runs from the line end to the chip. Chips are dodged to at least 30px apart.
- Footer at y 574: a ring marker key plus the source line.

Axes and grid:
- A shaded horizontal target band spanning the plot, edges dashed, labeled in small caps inside its lower edge where no line passes. A few 1px gridlines outside the band; y labels right-aligned 12px left of the plot; x labels every third period. No axis lines.

Marks:
- Line chart: 2.6px smooth (monotone) lines with round caps, no markers inside the band. Every point outside the band gets a 4.6px ring (1.3px stroke in the series color, panel-colored fill) with a 1.8px solid center dot.
- Bar chart: grouped vertical bars in the pastels with 4px top radius over the same target band; bars outside the band get a 1.3px outline in the series color drawn 3px outside the bar, and the latest group's values go in the same chips at the right edge.

Avoid: saturated or neon colors, glows, a legend box (chips label the series), heavy gridlines, and markers on in-band points.

When you're done, render the chart and check that only out-of-band points carry rings, the chips never overlap, each chip matches its line's final value, and the band label is clear of every line.
