Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Volume Split" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a strength coach's programming dashboard. Dark graphite, condensed uppercase headings, monospaced figures and four warm-to-cool muscle-group colors in crisp stacked blocks.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page #1B1C1F, panel #222327 (10px radius, inset 24px). Ink #ECEBE8, secondary #9A9A9F, faint #65666C, gridlines #2E2F34, baseline #4A4B51.
- Series (bottom to top): coral #F07A61, teal #2BB0A5, mustard #D9A93A, lavender #9E8CE0.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Barlow Condensed for words: title 600 34px uppercase with 0.4px letter-spacing stating the finding; subtitle 500 17px #9A9A9F; legend names 600 15px uppercase with 1px letter-spacing; x labels 600 14px like "W7".
- DM Mono for figures and meta: eyebrow 400 12px uppercase with 1px letter-spacing ("PROGRAM / BLOCK A / 12 WEEKS"); legend counts 400 12.5px ("192 sets"); bar totals 500 12.5px; y labels 400 11.5px #65666C; "deload" tags 400 10.5px; source 400 11px.

Layout:
- 56px inner margins. Eyebrow, title, subtitle, then a compact legend row: 12px swatches with 2px radius, the name, and the series total in mono, with the grand total right-aligned; a 1px #2E2F34 rule below it.
- Plot about x 88 to 900, y 214 to 510.

Axes and grid:
- 1px #2E2F34 horizontal gridlines every 20 units with mono labels at the left; a 1px #4A4B51 baseline. No vertical grid.

Marks:
- Bar chart: stacked bars 42px wide; segments separated by 2px gaps showing the panel color; only the top segment gets 3px top corners. The total sits 9px above each bar in mono. Recovery or off periods (deload weeks) are drawn at 38% opacity with gray labels and a small outlined pill (18px tall, 9px radius, #65666C stroke) reading "deload" above the total.
- Line chart: 2.5px lines in the four series colors with 4px dots, stacked-area variant allowed with the same 2px panel-colored separators; reduced periods shaded as a 38% opacity band with the same "deload" pill.

Avoid: glow, gradients, a boxed legend, pure black or pure white, and rounding every segment.

When you're done, render the chart and check that bar totals equal the sum of segments, the legend counts equal each series total, deload weeks are clearly ghosted, and the gaps between segments are visible at thumbnail size.
