Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Unit Inspections" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: an official inspection summary form. Rows, rules, checkboxes and columns: the chart reads like a filled-in checklist that a property manager signs off.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #FFFFFF. Form header band: #F3F5F7 with a 1px #D5DAE0 border. Zebra rows: #FAFBFC. Row rules: #E3E6EA.
- Outcomes: pass #16A34A (green), pass with repairs #F59E0B (amber), fail #DC2626 (red) with a 45-degree hatch of 2.4px #B91C1C lines every 6px so fail reads without color.
- Ink: #1C2533 (text, checkbox outlines, heavy rules). Secondary text: #5B6472. Faint header notes: #9AA2AD.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Bitter 700 for the title only: 29px ink, naming the worst performer with the computed ratio ("Driftwood Court failed one in four units it inspected").
- Lato for everything else: form header 900 12px uppercase 1.6px letter-spacing (the form title 700 11px in #5B6472); subtitle 14px #5B6472; column headers 700 10.5px uppercase 1.4px letter-spacing; row names 14.5px (900 for rows above the alarm threshold); numbers 700 14px with tabular figures; percent labels inside bars 700 12px white.

Layout:
- 40px side margins. A 32px form header band at the top with organization left, form name middle, period right.
- Title at y 110, subtitle at y 136, legend at y 172, then a 1.5px ink rule opening the table with column headers: PROPERTY, OUTCOME (bars), FAIL (in red), UNITS (right-aligned).
- Rows 32px tall with 1px rules, alternate zebra fill, closed by another 1.5px ink rule and a 0/25/50/75/100% scale with 5px tick marks.
- Each row starts with a 16px checkbox (2.5px radius, 1.5px ink outline). Checked with a 2.4px green tick when the item meets the standard, empty otherwise. Explain the checkbox in the legend.

Axes and grid:
- No gridlines inside the table; the row rules do the work. Percent scale only below the last row.

Marks:
- Bar chart: 100% stacked horizontal bars, 20px tall, square corners, a 1.5px white gap between segments, pass then repairs then fail from left to right. Sort rows by fail rate, worst first. Pass share printed inside the green segment at its left; fail rate as a column right of the bars (bold red above threshold); unit count in its own right column.
- Line chart: one small multiple row per item: a 2px ink line inside each 32px row showing its fail rate over time, green, amber or red end dot by status, with the checkbox and name on the left and latest rate and count columns on the right.

Avoid: rounded bars, gradients, shadows, a separate y axis, unsorted rows, and fail segments without the hatch.

When you're done, render the chart and check that rows are sorted by fail rate, checkbox states match the stated threshold, the title's ratio is true, and the three outcome colors plus hatch are distinguishable in grayscale.
