Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Tremor RSAM" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: an observatory's night-shift monitoring screen. Near-black with the warmth of embers: a lava orange trace glowing gently, dim red event columns and a compact live readout. Serious and calm, not a gaming dashboard.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #120C0A (near-black, warm).
- Data line and live readout value: #FF7A2F (lava orange).
- Gridlines: #3A1D14 (dark ember) for major lines; the same color at 0.6px dashed for minor lines. Plot baseline #5A2E1E.
- Event columns: #8E1B12 (deep red) at 55% opacity; their labels #E0513C.
- Primary text #F4E6DC; secondary text #A88A7A; source #7C6356. Readout card fill #1C120E with a 1px #4A2518 border.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Saira throughout. Title 600 28px #F4E6DC stating the finding; subtitle 14px #A88A7A (measure, station, unit, sampling, scale, period) with a second line for place; tick labels 12px; event labels 11px 600 uppercase with 1.2px letter-spacing; readout label 11px 600 uppercase with 1.6px letter-spacing, readout value 600 32px; annotations 11px; source 11.5px.

Layout:
- 56px side margins; title near y 66, subtitle lines near y 94 and 116.
- A readout card at the top right (156 x 92 px at x 748, y 30, 4px radius): a 4px orange dot and "LATEST", the latest value large in orange, then unit and timestamp.
- Plot area from x 96 to 900, y 164 to 496. Source line at the bottom left.

Axes and grid:
- Log y axis for amplitude: 1px major gridlines at each decade labeled 10, 100, 1,000, 10,000 in #A88A7A, plus 0.6px dashed (2 on, 4 off) minor lines at 2x and 5x.
- x axis with 6px ticks every 5 days, the first labeled with the month ("1 SEP"). No vertical gridlines.

Marks:
- Line chart: one 1.4px #FF7A2F line with straight segments and round joins. Under it, a glow copy of the same path: 4px wide, 55% opacity, Gaussian blur stdDeviation 3.2 (filter region covering the whole canvas so the glow is never clipped). A 3.5px orange dot on the latest point. Episodes are thin full-height #8E1B12 columns (55% opacity) spanning their start and end, extending 8px above the plot with short labels above ("EP 1"). Thin 1px dashed (3 on, 3 off) #F4E6DC reference lines mark the starting and current background levels with small labels.
- Bar chart: slim #FF7A2F bars (about 60% of the band, square corners) with the same soft glow behind them, on the same ember grid; event periods as the same deep red columns behind the bars; the readout card for the latest bar. Bars start at zero, so use a linear axis for bars.

Avoid: neon cyan or purple accents, heavy glows that blur the line, bright gridlines, rounded card clutter, 3D and gradients on the data.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the glow is soft and unclipped, the log decades are evenly spaced, event columns align to their times, and the readout shows the true latest value.
