Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Treatment Mix" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the weekly booking summary a boutique day spa prints on linen card stock. Warm, tactile and quietly organized, with earthy muted colors and a neat side key.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #F3EEE6 (linen). Key card fill: #FAF6F0 with a 1px #E2D8CA border.
- Series, bottom to top: #B98468 (clay), #D9C6A5 (sand), #7E9C8C (eucalyptus), #A88799 (dusty mauve).
- Ink: #3F332B. Secondary text: #8A7B6E. Gridlines and rules: #E2D8CA. Eyebrow and the note leader: #B98468.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Fahkwang 500 for the title (29px, #3F332B, sentence case, stating the finding with a real ratio such as "2.8×"); Fahkwang 600 18px for the key's total figure.
- Karla for everything else: eyebrow 12px 700 uppercase with 2.6px letter-spacing in clay; subtitle 16px #8A7B6E; axis labels 13px; category labels 14px 500 (the highlighted category 700 in ink); totals above bars 15px 600 #8A7B6E (the highlighted one 19px 800 in ink); in-segment values 13px 700; key names 15px 600; key counts 13px; note 13px italic; source 12px.

Layout:
- 64px side margins; eyebrow at y 58, title at y 102, subtitle at y 132.
- Plot from x 88 to x 664, baseline at y 486, top of scale at y 180.
- A key card on the right (x 712, y 180, 184 x 306, 12px radius) headed "PER WEEK" (11px 700, 2px letter-spacing), listing series from the top of the stack down: a 14px swatch with 4px radius, the name, and a count line below it; then a 1px rule and a "Total" row with the grand total right-aligned in Fahkwang.
- Under the category labels, a quiet italic note with a 1px clay elbow leader from the highlighted bar, e.g. "Sunday peak: 108 bookings, 24% of the week". Source line at the bottom left.

Axes and grid:
- No y-axis line. 1px #E2D8CA gridlines at four round values; y labels right-aligned 12px left of the plot. A 1px ink baseline.

Marks:
- Bar chart: stacked vertical bars 52px wide (about 63% of the band). Segments are separated by 2px linen gaps (cut the gap out of the lower segment). Only the topmost segment is rounded: 10px radius on its top corners. Totals sit 10px above each stack. The highlighted bar prints each segment value centered inside it (linen text on dark segments, ink text on sand).
- Line chart: 3px lines in the same four colors with round joins, 5px dots in the series color with a 2px linen ring, stacked area fills at 85% opacity separated by 2px linen strokes if the data is cumulative; the same key card replaces a legend.

Avoid: pure white, gradients, shadows, bold saturated colors, a boxed legend inside the plot, and rounding every segment.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the linen gaps are even, only the top segments are rounded, the key lists series in the same order as the stack, and the ratio in the title and the note percentage match the data.
