Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Tint Ramp" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a paint lab's tint card on black. A single hue family stepping from pale peach to deep brick, every series one step darker and heavier than the last, keyed by a vertical tint scale that prints each step's light reflectance value (LRV).

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #0A0A0A.
- Seven-step ramp, lightest to darkest, one per series in order: #F6D8BC, #EDBC97, #E59E77, #D77D55, #C45E3D, #AA442D, #8C2E23. With fewer series take evenly spaced steps; never reorder or add other hues.
- Text #F4EDE6; secondary text #8A847E; gridlines #1F1D1C; zero line #3A3634. LRV numbers on the three lightest swatches #3A1A12, on the rest #FFFFFF.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Instrument Serif 400 for the title, 40px, #F4EDE6, stating the finding.
- Outfit for everything else: eyebrow 12px 500 uppercase with 2.6px letter-spacing; subtitle 15px 300 with measure, unit, period and the key numbers; tick labels 12px; end-label codes 12px 600 in #F4EDE6 with values 12px in #8A847E right-aligned in a column; scale headers ("LRV", "TINT") 10.5px 600 uppercase with 1.8px letter-spacing; LRV numbers 15px 500; step names 10px; source 12px.

Layout:
- 56px left margin. Eyebrow baseline 56, title 104, subtitle 134.
- Plot from x 92 to 740, y 176 to 510; end labels in the 76px after it.
- Tint scale at the right: a 40px-wide vertical bar at x 816 from y 176, seven 48px swatches stacked lightest at top with no gaps, each printing its LRV centered inside; to its right each step's code ("T1") and name. Headers 12px above.
- Footer at baseline 572: source at left, "LRV = light reflectance value, 0 to 100" right-aligned at x 904.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal gridlines only, 1px #1F1D1C, zero line #3A3634; y labels right-aligned 14px left of the plot; x labels centered 24px below.

Marks:
- Line chart: smooth monotone curves, round caps and joins. Stroke width rises with the ramp: 1.5px for the lightest, +0.5px per step (4.5px for the seventh). Each line ends in a circular swatch dot of its color, radius 4.5px growing 0.35px per step, with a 2px #0A0A0A ring. Direct end labels nudged to at least 17px apart.
- Bar chart: bars in the ramp colors with square corners and a 2px #0A0A0A gap between neighbors; grouped bars follow the ramp order within each group, and each bar is topped by a small circular swatch dot of its color (r 4.5) sitting 6px above it with the value beside it. Same tint scale on the right.

Avoid: any hue outside the peach-to-brick ramp, legends other than the tint scale, glows, gradients inside marks, dashed lines, and markers at every point.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the steps read in order from pale to deep, line widths visibly increase, the darkest line and its labels are still legible on black, and the LRV scale matches the series order.
