Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Takt Line" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the performance board hung over a robotic assembly cell. Loud, legible from ten meters, industrial: pale safety yellow, tall condensed black type, one thick red line everyone is measured against.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #FBF5DC (pale industrial yellow).
- Ink, data line and markers: #111111.
- Takt and overrun red: #D7261E.
- Hazard stripe: #F2C230 diagonals on #111111.
- Secondary text: #6B6450. Gridlines: #E6DDB8.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Antonio throughout. Eyebrow 600 at 14px uppercase with 2.4px letter-spacing in #6B6450. Title 700 at 56px uppercase, 0.5px letter-spacing, black, stating the finding ("5 OF 48 PARTS RAN OVER TAKT"). Subtitle 400 at 18px #6B6450 with measure, unit and the reference value. Axis labels 15px (y in #6B6450, x 500 in black). Stop-code stamps 700 at 13px uppercase. Key and footer 12.5 to 13px with 1px letter-spacing.

Layout:
- A 12px hazard stripe across the very top edge: black band with 12px-wide #F2C230 parallelograms every 24px.
- 40px side margins. Eyebrow at y 52, title baseline at y 112, subtitle at y 144.
- A stop-code key top right: red 24 x 17 chips with the code in page-yellow 700 text, followed by an uppercase description in black.
- Plot about x 88 to 884, y 196 to 480. Footer with "Source: ..." at the left and a red square key ("OVER TAKT, WITH STOP CODE AND CYCLE TIME") at the right.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal 1px #E6DDB8 gridlines every 5 units with labels "45 s", "50 s"; no y axis line.
- A 2px black baseline with 6px ticks every 6 parts and labels "#1", "#7"; a small uppercase axis title right-aligned below.

Marks:
- Line chart: a 1.8px black polyline with 6 x 6 px black square markers on every point. The takt (target) line is a 4px #D7261E line dashed 14 on, 7 off, across the full plot, with a solid red tab at its right end reading "TAKT 58 S" in page-yellow 700. Any point above takt gets an 11 x 11 red square with a 1.5px page-yellow outline, a 1.2px red leader up 22px, and a stamp: a page-yellow box with a 1.5px red border containing the stop code and value ("J3 64.0 S") in red 700. Merge consecutive overruns with the same code into one stamp that still accounts for every point: a 1.2px red bracket spans all of them with each end dropping to just above its own square, the leader rises from its center, and the stamp names the count and each value ("G1 X2 62.3 / 60.9 S"), so the number of red squares always matches the stamps and the title.
- Bar chart: black square-cornered bars from zero with the same dashed red takt line across them; bars over takt turn #D7261E and carry the same stop-code stamp above.

Avoid: rounded corners, gradients, shadows, smoothing, soft colors, a legend box, and more than one red element per meaning.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the title's count equals the red markers, stamps don't collide with each other or the takt tab, the takt label sits above its line, and the hazard stripe is crisp at the top edge.
