Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Stand Sizes" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: an exhibition floor plan in a sales office. Each bar is drawn as a stand footprint seen from above, laid on a navy hall with a faint dot grid, crisp and technical.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Canvas: #101830 (hall navy) covered with a dot grid: 1.2px-radius dots every 24px in #6F82B8 at 35% opacity.
- Stand slab: #2F6BFF (electric blue) with a 1.5px #1D46B8 shadow line along its bottom edge.
- Fascia strip: #8DB0FF, 5px tall along the top of each bar. Also the eyebrow color.
- Corner posts: #E6EEFF. Primary text: #E8ECF6. Secondary text: #8C97B5. Column rules: #2A3558; axis rule: #4A5680.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Titillium Web throughout: title 700 36px #E8ECF6 stating the finding; eyebrow 600 12px uppercase with 3px spacing; subtitle 16px #8C97B5; category labels 600 15px; secondary counts 11.5px #8C97B5; value labels 600 15px (700 in #E6EEFF for the largest); axis labels 12px; footer 12px.

Layout:
- Eyebrow at x 56, y 52; title at y 96; subtitle at y 126 giving the measure, unit and total.
- Plot from x 300 to 830, first row at y 170, 44px per row, 26px-tall bars. Category labels right-aligned 16px left of the plot, with a small secondary count ("38 stands") under each.
- Values print 12px past the end of each bar with the unit ("4,860 m²").

Axes and grid:
- Vertical 1px #2A3558 dashed column rules (3 on, 4 off) at round values like a hall grid, labels under the last row. A 1.5px #4A5680 zero rule. No horizontal gridlines.

Marks:
- Bar chart: flat square-cornered #2F6BFF slabs with the #8DB0FF fascia strip on top. At each end: a 3px-radius #E6EEFF post dot with a 1px navy stroke centered on the fascia, and a 2px-radius post dot (80% opacity) near the bottom corner. Sorted largest first.
- Line chart: a 3px #2F6BFF line with a 5px #8DB0FF strip-like highlight offset 2px above it at 60% opacity; points as square 7px #E6EEFF post markers with a 1px navy stroke; values labeled at the ends.

Avoid: rounded bar ends, gradients, glows, bright backgrounds, and more than one bar color.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the dot grid stays faint behind the bars, post dots sit exactly at the bar ends, the unit renders correctly, and the title share equals the top category over the total.
