Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Stage Schedule" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the production run sheet on a stage manager's screen. Near-black, one glowing white line for the crowd, bright cyan agenda blocks along the bottom and a clock readout, like show control software.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Canvas: #0D0D10 (stage black) with a very soft white radial spotlight from the top center (7% opacity fading to 0).
- Data line: #FFFFFF. Area under it: white gradient from 22% opacity at the top to 0 at the baseline.
- Accent: #22D3EE (session cyan) for agenda blocks, the eyebrow, the clock digits, the peak badge ring and a 6% tint of each session behind the plot.
- Secondary text: #8A8F9A. Gridlines: #23252C. Baseline: #3A3D46. Clock panel: #15161B with a 1.5px #2C2E36 border. Recording dot: #FF4D5E.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Big Shoulders Display 800 for the title (48px, 0.5px spacing, white, stating the finding), the clock digits (54px, 3px spacing, cyan) and the peak badge number (28px white).
- Figtree for everything else: eyebrow 12px 700 uppercase with 3px spacing in cyan; subtitle 16px #8A8F9A; axis labels 12px 500; session names 9.5px 800 in uppercase with 1.2px spacing (small caps look), stage black on cyan; badge label 10px 700 with 2.5px spacing; source 12px.

Layout:
- Eyebrow at x 56, y 50; title at y 100; subtitle at y 132.
- Clock readout top right: a 168 x 94 panel (radius 10) at x 736, y 30 with "PEAK AT" (11px 700, 3px spacing) and the peak time as big cyan digits, plus a 4px red dot at its top-left like a live indicator.
- Plot from x 88 to 900, y 196 to 424. Agenda strip directly below: session blocks 44px tall starting at y 440, radius 5, positioned on the same time scale, with 1px gaps; hour ticks and HH:00 labels under the strip. Breaks (e.g. lunch) stay dark with a muted spaced label.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal 1px #23252C gridlines, comma-formatted labels right-aligned 12px left of the plot. A 1.2px #8A8F9A dotted capacity line (2 on, 5 off) with a "CAPACITY" tag at its right end.
- No vertical gridlines; the session tint bands (cyan at 6%) run up through the plot instead.

Marks:
- Line chart: a 3px white monotone-smoothed line with a soft glow (Gaussian blur 5 merged under the line), gradient area beneath. Peak: a 6px-radius cyan dot with a 2px black ring, a 1.2px cyan leader to a round badge (38px radius, black fill, 2.5px cyan ring) holding "PEAK" and the value.
- Bar chart: square-cornered white bars at 90% opacity on the same agenda strip, the peak bar solid white with the round cyan badge; bars sit above the session blocks they belong to.
- Session blocks: cyan at 82% opacity, the block containing the peak at 100%. Names wrap onto two lines when a block is narrow.

Avoid: multiple line colors, heavy gridlines, neon glows on text, clipping session names, a light background.

When you're done, render the chart and check that every session name fits its block, the clock shows the actual peak time, the badge does not cover the line, and the glow is not clipped.
