Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Stage Black" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a keynote reveal on a pure black stage. Thin, huge numbers, crisp white lines and a single point of electric blue where the story ends. Silence and precision.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #000000, full bleed.
- Lines and big numbers: #FFFFFF. Accent: #3AA0FF (electric blue), used only on the current value: the end dot, its bloom and the latest-period label.
- Secondary text: #8A8A8A. Tertiary text: #5A5A5A. Baselines: #262626. Footer rule: #141414. Presenter notes: #4A4A4A italic.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Red Hat Display 300 for the headline (44px, -1.2px letter-spacing) and the KPI numbers (68px, -2.5px letter-spacing); 400 at 16px #8A8A8A for the subtitle.
- Red Hat Mono for small labels: eyebrow and metric labels 11 to 12px 500 uppercase with 1.8 to 2.4px letter-spacing in #8A8A8A; deltas 12px; period labels 11px; footer 11px.

Layout:
- 72px side margins. Eyebrow at y 72, headline at y 128, subtitle at y 162.
- For KPI rows: four equal columns 186px wide with 24px gaps. Per column: label at y 238, big number at y 310, delta line at y 340 ("+1.52M since Q1 '24"), sparkline between y 386 and 470, a 1px #262626 baseline at y 482, first and last period labels at y 502 (last in blue, right-aligned).
- Footer: 1px #141414 rule at y 548; source left, presenter notes centered in italic, slide counter "08 / 21" right.

Axes and grid:
- No gridlines, no axes, no ticks. Only the faint 1px #262626 baseline under each plot.

Marks:
- Line chart: 2px #FFFFFF smooth monotone lines with round caps. The last point gets a #3AA0FF dot r 5.5 with a 2px white core, over a bloom (a #3AA0FF circle r 14 at 70% opacity, Gaussian blur 8, unclipped). Scale each sparkline to its own min and max with 12% padding. For a single large line chart, use the same treatment at full width with only first and last value labels.
- Bar chart: slim white bars with square corners and generous gaps; the current period bar in #3AA0FF with the same soft bloom behind its top edge; value label only on the current bar, in Red Hat Mono.

Avoid: gridlines, legends, bold weights, color other than white and the single blue, gradients on marks, and anything that makes the black look busy.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the bloom is not clipped, the big numbers match the last data values, the deltas are arithmetically true, and blue appears only on the current values.
