Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Soft Clay" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: friendly claymorphism from a playful learning app. Everything looks like soft, rounded modelling clay: extruded bars with inner highlights, pillowy cards and chips that seem pressed out of the surface.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background and card: #ECE8F7 (pale lavender).
- Ink: #3B2750 (deep plum). Secondary text: #6E5F86.
- Series (bottom to top in a stack): #7C87E6 (periwinkle), #F7C6A0 (apricot), #4DA888 (mint). Labels on periwinkle and mint are white; on apricot they are plum.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Outfit only. Title 30px 700 with -0.6px letter-spacing, stating the finding. Subtitle 15px 500 #6E5F86. Legend and axis labels 13px 500. Value bubbles 13px 700 with tabular figures. Segment values 12.5px 700.

Layout:
- Title and subtitle top left at 40px margin; puffy legend chips top right.
- A large pillowy card (32px inset from the edges, 34px radius) filled with the background color, with a neumorphic lift (white shadow -8,-8 blur 10 at 90%, plum shadow 10,14 blur 16 at 12%) and an inner shadow (plum at 12%, offset 0,10, blur 14) so it looks gently pressed in.
- Legend chips: 34px tall, 17px radius, vertical gradient #FAF8FF to #E6E0F4, the same double shadow at a smaller scale, a 6.5px color dot with a tiny white highlight.

Axes and grid:
- No gridlines, no y axis. A raised clay base plate (22px tall, 11px radius, gradient #FBFAFE to #DCD5EE with a soft drop shadow and a 3px white highlight strip along its top) stands in for the x axis; bars sit on it.
- Category labels 13px 500 #6E5F86 centered below the plate.

Marks:
- Bar chart: stacked columns 58px wide with 14px rounded tops, drawn inside a clip of the whole stack. Over the stack lay a horizontal sheen gradient (white 42% at the left edge, 8% at 28%, clear at 70%, plum 16% at the right edge). Between segments draw a 2px white crease at 70% with a 2.5px plum shade at 10% just below it. A 3px white arc along the top rim at 65%. Each stack casts a wide soft shadow (offset 6,14, blur 12, plum at 22%). Totals sit in pressed value bubbles above each bar (56 x 28px, 14px radius, #E3DDF2 with a small inner shadow). Put segment values inside the latest bar only.
- Line chart: a 6px rounded line in #7C87E6 with the same sheen as a lighter 2px highlight line offset 1.5px up, a soft plum shadow below it, and clay beads (10px circles with a white highlight dot) at each point; extra series in apricot and mint. Values in pressed bubbles above the beads.

Avoid: hard 1px outlines, sharp corners, pure black, saturated colors, and flat fills without the sheen and shadow.

When you're done, render the chart and check that segment seams line up with the data, totals in bubbles equal the segment sums, and the shadows are soft enough that nothing looks muddy.
