Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "SOC Wall" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the big wall display in a security operations center at night. Deep navy glass, one electric azure signal, and coral that only appears when something breaks the expected pattern.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #08132A (deep navy) with a vignette: a radial gradient centered at 50% x, 45% y, radius 75%, holding #08132A to 55% and darkening to #030815 at the edge.
- Panel fill: #0C1A36 at 55% opacity. Gridlines and dividers: #18294A.
- Signal: #2EA8FF (electric azure) for the main line, its area, corner brackets and the key metric.
- Anomaly: #FF8577 (soft coral) for breach markers, the anomaly window, its annotation and the breach count.
- Expected range band: #7FA3D1 at 16% opacity, with 0.8px dashed (3 on 3) edges at 45% opacity.
- Text: #E4EEFB (primary), #8FA6C6 (secondary), #566D90 (tertiary and tick labels).

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Rajdhani for headings and labels: title 700 at 30px; subtitle 500 at 15.5px in #8FA6C6; top bar 700 at 14px uppercase with 2.2px letter-spacing; rail labels 700 at 11.5px uppercase with 1.5px letter-spacing; legend 600 at 13px.
- Share Tech Mono for every number: the clock at 16px, axis ticks at 11.5px, the annotation value at 12.5px, rail values at 32 to 36px.

Layout:
- A 34px top bar in #030815 at 70% opacity with a 1px #18294A bottom rule: a 4px azure status dot and the operations center name at the left, the shift name in the middle-right, and "UTC 23:47:12" at the right in mono.
- Title at y 78 and subtitle at y 104, 32px from the left.
- The chart panel runs from x 24 to 712 and y 124 to 538, framed only by azure corner brackets (16px arms, 2px stroke), not a full border. Plot from x 60 to 690, y 160 to 486. A one-row legend inside the panel's bottom edge.
- A stats rail from x 740 to 932, separated by a 1px #18294A vertical rule: five stacked metrics 82px apart (label, then big mono value), with 1px dividers. The first is mean time to acknowledge in azure with a 3px progress bar against its SLA; a breach count in coral.
- Source bottom left in mono, a panel id bottom right.

Axes and grid:
- 1px #18294A horizontal gridlines, mono tick labels in #566D90 right-aligned 8px left of the plot, a 1px #566D90 baseline.
- Time ticks every 12 hours, with day names on the midnight ticks.
- Shift handovers: 1px #566D90 dotted verticals (1 on 4, round caps) at each handover, with the shift letter centered above each shift span.

Marks:
- Line chart: a 2px azure line with round joins and a soft glow (Gaussian blur 3.5 merged under the line). Under it an area gradient from azure at 42% opacity at the top to 2% at the baseline. The expected range band sits behind it. Points outside the band get a coral ring (6px radius, 1.8px stroke) with a 2.4px coral dot inside. The anomaly window gets a coral wash at 10% opacity from top to bottom of the plot, with an uppercase Rajdhani 700 12px coral label and a mono value line beside the peak.
- Bar chart: bars in azure at 85% opacity with a 2px brighter azure top edge and the same glow on the top edge, 2px gaps; bars outside the expected range filled coral; the expected band drawn over the bars as a translucent strip.

Effects:
- Glow filter with filterUnits userSpaceOnUse covering the whole canvas so nothing clips.

Avoid: pure black, neon green, full panel borders, 3D, more than one signal color, and coral anywhere that is not an anomaly.

When you're done, render the chart and check that every point outside the band has a coral ring and none inside does, the breach count in the title and rail matches the rings, the glow is not clipped, and the shift letters do not collide with the handover rules.
