Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Share of Voice" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a brand strategy deck in a warm, dim room. Earthy muted competitors, one bright coral home brand that you notice first, soft flowing layers and launch pins that tell the story of why share moved.

Colors (use these exact values), stacking order from the bottom:
- Home / focus series: #FF6B57 (coral), label text #2A1410. Always at the bottom so its growth reads against a flat baseline.
- Then #8FA487 (sage, label #1A2418), #A8644B (clay, label #FFF1EA), #C9A04A (ochre, label #2A2008), #6E6660 (stone, label #F3ECE4). This order keeps neighbors distinguishable with color vision deficiency; do not put coral next to ochre.
- Canvas: #221F1C (warm charcoal). Primary text: #F3ECE4. Secondary text and ticks: #A69C92.
- Layer separators: 1.6px lines in the canvas color #221F1C.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Epilogue 700 for the title (32px, -0.6px letter-spacing, #F3ECE4, stating the finding), layer labels (14px; the home brand 17px) and the small "LAUNCHES" header (10.5px, 1.6px tracking, #A69C92).
- IBM Plex Sans with tabular figures for everything else: subtitle 14.5px #A69C92 that includes the start and end share of the home brand; axis labels 12px (year-start months 600 #F3ECE4, others 400 #A69C92); end values 13px (home brand 700 coral); pin labels 12.5px 600 #F3ECE4; source 12px.

Layout:
- 56px left margin; title baseline y 64, subtitle y 94. Launch pin row at y 136, plot from x 72 to 830 and y 176 to 516, end values 10px right of the plot. Source line at y 578.

Axes and grid:
- No gridlines. Y labels only at 0, 50 and 100%. X ticks 5px #A69C92 every quarter with month labels; year-start ticks labeled "Jan 2024".

Marks:
- Line chart (100% stacked area): normalize every period to 100%, then draw each layer between smooth Catmull-Rom style boundaries (control points at one sixth of the neighboring span) so edges flow without kinks. Solid fills, no transparency, separators on every internal boundary.
- Put each layer's name inside it at the period where it is thickest (ignore the first and last three periods); put the home brand's label near the right with a second line giving its latest share (for example "27% of mentions"). End values show each layer's last share.
- Bar chart: 100% stacked columns in the same colors and order, 70% of the band wide, square corners, 1.6px charcoal gaps between segments, the same in-band labels on the widest column per layer and the same launch pins above the matching columns.

Labels and annotation:
- Launch pins: a coral map-pin shape (15px wide head, point at the bottom) with a charcoal r 2.6 hole, a 1px coral dotted (2 on 3 off) line from the pin down to the plot top, and the launch name 13px to its right. Only for the home brand's events.

Avoid: a legend box (label layers in place), transparency, bright colors for competitors, a wiggle baseline that hides the home brand's growth, gridlines over the fills, and outlines around the areas.

When you're done, render the chart and check that every period sums to 100%, labels fit inside their layers, pins align with their periods, and the title's claim matches the first and last shares.
