Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "SDK Downloads" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a product changelog page. Warm paper, crisp ink, version tags in outline pills and change-type chips, like release notes that happen to carry a chart.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #FBF9F4 (warm off-white). Ink for titles, the baseline and pill outlines: #1C1917. Body text #44403C, muted labels #78716C, rules #E7E2D8, gridlines #EFEBE3.
- Three series hues, always in this order: #0F766E (teal), #EA580C (tangerine), #7E22CE (plum).
- Latest-period highlight panel: #F3EEE3. "major" chips fill #E9E3D7.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Bricolage Grotesque for the title (700, 34px, -0.9px letter-spacing, stating the finding), subtitle (400, 16px #44403C) and source line (500, 12px).
- Martian Mono for all labels: the "CHANGELOG" eyebrow (600, 10px, 1.2px letter-spacing), legend (500, 11px), axis labels (400, 10.5px), version pills (600, 10.5px), dates (400, 10px), change-type chips (9px) and value labels (600, 10px).

Layout:
- 64px left margin. Eyebrow row at top: "CHANGELOG" inside a 104 x 24 outline pill (12px radius, 1.2px ink stroke) followed by the product line in muted mono.
- Title about 54px below, subtitle 30px below that; legend of 11px rounded squares (2.5px radius) right-aligned on the subtitle baseline.
- Plot from about x 118 to 904, baseline at y 432, top of scale at y 190.
- Below each category: a 12px tick in #C9C1B3 from the baseline, a 72 x 24 outline version pill (12px radius) with the semver, the date in muted mono, and a small change-type chip ("major", "feat", "fix"; major chips filled #E9E3D7, others outlined #E7E2D8).
- Footer rule at y 552 with the source at left and a one-line takeaway in the relevant series color at right.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal gridlines in #EFEBE3 at even steps, the zero line 1.2px #1C1917. Y labels in mono, formatted "20k".
- No vertical gridlines. A dashed 3 4 ink line at 45% opacity marks a breaking change, labeled in small muted mono ("breaking: v4 API").

Marks:
- Bar chart: grouped vertical bars, 21px wide with 3px gaps, 3px top radius, square bottoms. The latest group sits on a #F3EEE3 rounded panel (8px radius) and carries value labels in each bar's own color 7px above; its version pill is filled ink with paper-colored text. A tangerine "LATEST" ribbon (68 x 20, notched both ends, white 700 mono 9.5px, 1px letter-spacing) floats above the latest group.
- Line chart: 2.5px lines in the same three hues with round joins, a 4px dot at each release, the version pills under each release point on the x axis, and the latest point enlarged (r 6) with its value label; the latest ribbon sits above it.

Avoid: dark backgrounds, heavy gridlines, gradients, drop shadows, more than three hues, and plain text x labels (versions always go in pills).

When you're done, render the chart and check that pills don't overlap at your category count, the ribbon clears the tallest bar's value label, and the headline multiple matches the data.
