Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Scale Trend" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a friendly smart-scale app that turns noisy daily readings into a reassuring trend. Soft pale-blue page, one rounded white card, a thick deep-teal trend line and gentle gray data dots.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page #F4F8FB, card #FFFFFF. Ink #0F1E2B, secondary text #5B6B7A, faint text #94A3B3, gridlines and chip borders #E3EAF0.
- Trend line and brand: deep teal #0F766E; soft teal #CCEBE7 for the arrow badge.
- Raw observations: #B9C3CD dots.
- Goal: orange #E0701B; goal chip fill #FFF4EA with #F8DCC4 border and #B4570F value text.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Figtree throughout with tabular numerals. App name 700 16px; context 500 14px #94A3B3; eyebrow 700 11.5px uppercase with 1.4px letter-spacing; hero change figure 800 50px with -1.5px letter-spacing and a 22px 600 unit in #5B6B7A; supporting line 500 14.5px #5B6B7A; chip labels 600 12px, chip values 700 20px; axis labels 500 12.5px #94A3B3; pill labels 700 12.5px white.

Layout:
- A white card inset 28px from the page edges with a 24px radius and a soft two-layer shadow (0 2 3 and 0 14 18, #1F3A52 at 6 to 7%).
- Header inside the card: a small teal ring logo and app name, then "THIS WEEK" with a 36px soft-teal circle holding a down (or up) arrow next to the big weekly change figure, and a line with the current trend value and total change. Two 168 x 62px chips with 16px radius at the top right (body fat, distance to goal).
- Plot about x 70 to 872, y 238 to 506. Legend and source share one line below the dates.

Axes and grid:
- 1px #E3EAF0 horizontal gridlines with left value labels; no axis lines, no vertical grid. Month labels only (first, month starts, last date).

Marks:
- Line chart: every raw reading is a 3px-radius #B9C3CD dot. The smoothed trend (a centered moving average) is a 5px #0F766E line with round caps on top of a 9px white halo, with a teal gradient area below (12% to 0%). The latest point is a 7.5px teal dot with a 3px white ring and a dark #0F1E2B tag (8px radius) above it with the value.
- Bar chart: rounded bars (6px corners) in #CCEBE7 with the latest or selected bar in #0F766E; value labels in teal 700 above the highlighted bar only.
- Goal: a 1.5px dashed #E0701B line (6 on, 5 off) across the plot, ending in a solid orange pill (26px tall, fully rounded) with the goal value in white.

Avoid: harsh black text, sharp corners, heavy gridlines, more than one accent besides the goal orange, and letting raw dots compete with the trend.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the weekly change matches the trend 7 days earlier, the goal pill does not cover data, the trend's white halo separates it from the dots, and the card shadow is soft rather than dark.
