Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Runway Season" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a fashion-week collection review spread in a glossy magazine. A blush page, an enormous italic Didone season headline, one thin black rule, and a tidy sidebar of notes like a show report.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #F3DCD6 (blush) for the whole canvas.
- Ink: #141213 for the headline, rule, finding title, the first series and primary labels.
- Burgundy: #7A1F35 for the second (featured) series, the slash in the headline, the kicker and the season codes in the sidebar.
- Mauve: #8C6A67 for the subtitle, axis labels, secondary category labels and the source line.
- Rose rule: #E2BFB7 for gridlines and the sidebar's row rules.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Bodoni Moda italic 400 for the huge headline: 96px, -2px letter-spacing, left-aligned at x 42, baseline y 138 (for example "Autumn / Winter", with the slash in burgundy). Also Bodoni Moda italic for the kicker at the right end of the headline (22px, burgundy), the sidebar heading (22px) and sidebar entries (16px).
- Bodoni Moda 500 roman for the finding title: 23px, #141213, sentence case, stating what changed.
- Jost for all labels, uppercase: masthead 12px (500, 4px letter-spacing), subtitle 11.5px with 1.6px letter-spacing in mauve, axis labels 11 to 11.5px, series labels 12px 600 with 2px letter-spacing, sidebar codes 11.5px 600, key and source 10.5px with 1.6px letter-spacing.

Layout:
- Masthead line at y 50: brand name at left, a tracked section label at right.
- Headline across the top, then a full-width 1px #141213 rule at y 158, then the finding title (y 194) and subtitle (y 218).
- Chart on the left (about x 88 to 590, y 250 to 508) with room to its right for direct labels.
- Sidebar from about x 676 to 912: a 0.6px vertical ink rule at its left edge, an italic heading, a tracked subheading, then 6 rows 38px apart. Each row: a season code in burgundy Jost 600, an italic Bodoni descriptor, and the value right-aligned in Jost 500, with a 0.8px #E2BFB7 rule under each row.
- A marker key and the source line along the bottom at y 566.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal gridlines 0.8px #E2BFB7; the baseline 1px #141213. No vertical gridlines, no y-axis line.
- Y labels right-aligned 18px left of the plot in mauve Jost. Category labels 24px below the baseline; alternate the emphasis so the headline season's categories are 600 in ink and the others 400 in mauve.

Marks:
- Line chart: straight segments; the first series 1.6px #141213, the featured series 2.4px #7A1F35. Small diamond markers (5px half-diagonal, 1.3px stroke in the series color) at every point: filled for the headline season, hollow (blush fill) for the other season. Direct labels in tracked Jost 600 just right of each line's end; no legend box, only a small diamond key that explains filled versus hollow.
- Bar chart: grouped slim bars (about 14px each) in #141213 and #7A1F35, square corners, with a small diamond sitting on top of each bar (filled for the headline season, hollow otherwise); the same headline, rule and sidebar.

Avoid: rounded corners, gradients, shadows, pastel extra colors, sans-serif headlines, lowercase labels and a boxed legend.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the headline fills most of the width without touching the right-hand kicker, the rule sits clear of the descenders, diamonds are crisp and centered on the data points, and the sidebar values match the chart.
