Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Rotation Chart" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a clean coaching sheet taped to a clipboard. Narrow type, navy blocks for time on court, one bright orange to call out the closers.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #FFFFFF with an 8px #22333B strip across the very top. Alternate rows are shaded #F4F6F7.
- Range bars: #22333B (navy) with white labels. Highlighted segments (the closing lineup): #F28F3B (bright orange) with #1D252B labels.
- Ink: #1D252B. Secondary text: #6F7A80. Minor gridlines: #D5DADD. Period gridlines: #AEB6BB.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Archivo Narrow throughout: title 700 30px ink; subtitle 400 17px #6F7A80; row names 16px (700 for the first group, 500 for the second); position tags 600 12px #6F7A80 with 1px letter-spacing; period heads 700 13px uppercase with 1.6px letter-spacing; bar labels 600 12px; right-hand totals 700 17px ink.

Layout:
- 48px margins. Title, subtitle, then a legend of 26 x 12 px rounded swatches ("On court", "Closing lineup").
- Plot from x 236 to 842, rows 36px tall, names at x 48 with position tags right-aligned at x 200, totals right-aligned at x 906 under a "MIN" head.
- A 0.8px ink divider with a small "BENCH" label splits starters from reserves, with 14px of extra space.

Axes and grid:
- Vertical gridlines every 6 units: at period boundaries solid 1px #AEB6BB, between them 0.8px #D5DADD dotted (2 on, 3 off). Tick labels 13px under the last row, with a small "GAME MIN" label at the left.

Marks:
- Bar chart: floating range bars 18px tall with 3px corners and a 1.5px inset at each end so back-to-back segments read as separate stints. Label each bar with its length (m:ss) centered when the bar is wider than 40px. Orange only for the segments you want to highlight.
- Line chart: draw each series as a thin 1.5px navy step line on its own row (small multiples), with the highlighted stretch thickened to 3px orange; keep the zebra rows, period gridlines and right-hand totals.

Avoid: rounded pills, gradients, shadows, extra colors, and a legend for every row (the row name labels it).

When you're done, render the chart and check that exactly the intended segments are orange, the totals equal the sum of each row's segments, and no label spills out of its bar.
