Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Risk Prevalence" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: an evidence dashboard from a regional health survey. Dark slate, calm muted sky bars sorted largest first, honest thin white confidence whiskers and a warm gold comparison mark that lets you see at a glance where the region beats or trails the country.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #1A1F26 (dark slate).
- Bars and eyebrow: #7FAED9 (muted sky). Values inside bars: #0E1B29.
- Confidence whiskers: #FFFFFF.
- National comparison mark: #F2C879 at 85% opacity.
- Title and labels: #E8EDF2. Secondary text: #8E99A6. Gridlines: #2A313B (the zero line #8E99A6).

Typography (Google Fonts): Kantumruy Pro throughout.
- Eyebrow 12px 600 uppercase, 2.4px letter-spacing, sky. Title 28px 600 #E8EDF2 stating how many factors exceed the comparison. Subtitle 14.5px 300 #8E99A6 with measure, interval and sample size.
- Category labels 14px 400 right-aligned. Values 13px 600. Axis labels 12px 300. Key 12.5px; source 11.5px 300.

Layout:
- 48px margins. Eyebrow y 56, title y 96, subtitle y 124.
- Category labels right-aligned to x 302; bars from x 318 to 880. Rows 36px with 22px bars, sorted descending.
- A key row at y 580 (bar swatch, a whisker glyph, the gold mark) with the source right-aligned.

Axes and grid:
- Vertical 1px #2A313B gridlines every 10% from zero, labeled below in #8E99A6. No horizontal lines, no y axis besides the zero line.

Marks:
- Bar chart: square-cornered horizontal bars from zero in #7FAED9. Each gets a 1.3px white whisker from the lower to the upper 95% bound at the bar's vertical center, with 10px end caps; it runs past the bar end. The national value is a 2px gold vertical mark 5px taller than the bar on both sides. The value sits just inside the bar's start (8px in, #0E1B29); if the whisker or gold mark would reach it, set it 8px past the furthest of the two instead, in #E8EDF2.
- Line chart: one 2.5px #7FAED9 line with 4px dots, a translucent #7FAED9 band at 22% opacity for the confidence interval, and the national series as a 2px dashed #F2C879 line, each labeled at its right end.

Avoid: gradients, rounded bars, colored bars for above/below (the gold mark carries that), thick whiskers, value labels crossing whiskers.

When you're done, render the chart and check the rows are sorted, every whisker contains its bar end, no value label touches a whisker or gold mark, and the title count matches the rows where the region exceeds the national value.
