Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Returns Reasons" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the insights page of a friendly returns portal after dark. Deep plum, soft candy-toned segments, rounded pill chips and a single card holding the data.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #1F1427 (deep plum). Card: #2A1D35. Chips: #3A2A48 with a 1px #4A3A5A border. Divider: #4A3A5A.
- Category colors in order: #C4B5FD (lilac), #FB7185 (coral), #FCD34D (amber), #9CA3AF (gray, for the neutral or "other" category).
- Headline text: #F5F3FF. Secondary text: #A89BB8. Text inside segments: #1F1427.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Urbanist throughout. Eyebrow 700, 12px uppercase, 2.2px letter-spacing, #C4B5FD. Title 800, 34px #F5F3FF stating the finding. Subtitle 500, 15px #A89BB8. Legend and category chips 600, 13px. Segment labels 700, 12.5px #1F1427. Right-column values 800, 17px. Column header 700, 11px uppercase with 1.6px letter-spacing. Group tags 700, 10px uppercase rotated -90 degrees.

Layout:
- Eyebrow at y 52, title at y 90, subtitle at y 118, 48px left margin.
- Legend as a row of 28px pill chips at y 138: a 5.5px colored dot and the name inside each.
- One #2A1D35 card (16px radius) from x 32 to 928 holding the rows. Category names as 26px pill chips right-aligned to x 170; bars from x 186 to 788; a right column centered at x 848 with a caps header ("RETURN RATE").
- Rows 38px apart; group rows into families with a 16px gap and a 1px divider, and tag each group with a small rotated label at the card's left edge in a series color.

Axes and grid:
- No axes or gridlines: every bar spans 0 to 100% and segments carry their own labels.

Marks:
- Bar chart: 100% stacked horizontal bars, 22px tall, clipped to a fully rounded pill (11px radius) so only the outer ends are round. Separate segments with 2px card-colored gaps. Print the percentage centered in any segment at least 34px wide. The right column value is white when notable and #A89BB8 otherwise.
- Line chart: each series as a 3px smooth line in the category colors on the card with r 5 dots ringed 2px in the card color, the latest value in a small colored pill at the line end, and the same chip legend; faint #4A3A5A horizontal gridlines only.

Avoid: sharp rectangles, gradients, glows, saturated neon, dark text on plum outside segments, and axis lines.

When you're done, render the chart and check that each row sums to 100%, only the bar ends are rounded, segment labels are dark and fit inside, and the chips do not crowd their text.
