Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Requisition Flow" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a dark workflow console for an operations team. Deep petrol background, a process diagram across the top that doubles as the legend, and bright, cool-to-warm stage colors in the order the work flows.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #0D2426 (dark petrol). Diagram panel: #12302F with a 1px #1D3F40 border, 10px radius.
- Series in process order: #67E8F9 (aqua), #34D399 (sea green), #BEF264 (lime), #FDA85A (apricot). Keep this order; it reads as a ramp from the first stage to the last.
- Title and strong text #E6F4F1, secondary text #7FA3A0, gridlines #1D3F40 (baseline #3A6664), source #5B7F7C.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Outfit 600 for the title (28px, #E6F4F1, stating the finding), diagram stage names (13.5px) and line end labels (14px, in the series color).
- Azeret Mono for everything else: subtitle 11.5px #7FA3A0 (measure, unit, organization, period); diagram sublabels 10.5px in the series color ("3.2 d now"); axis labels 11px; annotation 11px #E6F4F1; value lines under end labels 11px #7FA3A0; footer 11px.

Layout:
- 48px margins. Title at y 52, subtitle at y 78.
- Approval chain panel from y 98 to 158: "REQ" at left, then four nodes at x 180, 360, 540 and 720, each a 11px ring (2.5px stroke in the series color, background fill) with a 4.5px solid center dot, a numbered stage name to its right and the latest value below it. Nodes are joined by 1.2px dashed (3 on 3) #7FA3A0 connectors with small open arrowheads, starting after each label; the chain ends with an arrow into "PO".
- Plot from x 92 to 760, y 196 to 510; end labels in the right margin at x 776. Footer at y 572 with the source (and a note on how the title's figures are computed) at left and a small total at right.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal 1px #1D3F40 gridlines with "0d, 2d..." labels at left; no vertical axis line. Month labels ("Sep 24") every four months.
- Mark an intervention with a 1px dotted (2 on 4) #7FA3A0 vertical line and a short mono annotation at its top.

Marks:
- Line chart: 2.6px smooth (monotone) lines with round caps, a 4.5px end dot with a 2px background ring, and at the right end the series name in its color with the latest value under it. Nudge end labels apart to at least 34px.
- Bar chart: grouped vertical bars per period, one per stage in process order, 3px top radius, same colors; the diagram panel stays as the legend.

Avoid: glows, gradients, a boxed legend (the diagram is the legend), more than four colors, and white lines.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the diagram order matches the process order, each node value equals its series' last point, the end labels do not collide, and the title's before and after figures match the computed averages.
