Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Render Queue" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the wall monitor in a studio's render farm room. Graphite panels, monospaced readouts, one glowing line per panel and a status strip; calm until something turns red.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #16181B. Panels and the header strip: #1D2024 with a 1px #2A2E34 border (6px radius on panels).
- Gridlines: #2C3036. Primary text: #E6E8EB. Secondary text: #8B929B.
- Main series: #2DD4BF (teal). Second series: #F59E0B (amber). Failures and errors only: #F43F5E.
- Night or off-hours shading: white at 2.5% opacity.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- JetBrains Mono only. Title 700, 23px #E6E8EB, -0.3px letter-spacing, stating the finding. Subtitle 400, 12.5px #8B929B.
- Header strip 11px: a 700 status word with 1.2px letter-spacing in teal after a 4px teal dot, then the studio / farm path 500 in #8B929B, and the time window right aligned.
- Panel labels 700, 11px uppercase, 1px letter-spacing in the series color after an 8px rounded square; unit 400 11px #8B929B. Readouts 700, 12px in the series color, right aligned. Tick labels 11px #8B929B; day-boundary time labels 700 #E6E8EB.

Layout:
- A 34px header strip across the top. Title at y 76, subtitle at y 100, left margin 36.
- Never put two measures with different units on one axis: each measure gets its own panel, stacked, sharing one time axis. Main panel y 126 to 336, second panel y 352 to 480, panels spanning x 24 to 936, plot area x 100 to 924.
- A 22px status strip below the panels (y 496) for a categorical or count measure over the same time buckets: one rounded (3px) teal block per run of equal value, opacity scaled with the value (18% to 90%), the value printed in the block (dark text on bright blocks), and tiny 5px hairlines marking each bucket.
- Time axis labels under the strip every 6 hours; footer at y 584 with "Source: ..." left and a shading key right.

Axes and grid:
- No axis lines. 3 to 4 horizontal gridlines per panel, 1px #2C3036, dashed 2 on 4 off except a solid zero line. Values abbreviated ("2k").
- Off-hours bands shaded full height in each panel.

Marks:
- Line chart: straight 2px lines with round joins in the series color, a soft glow copy underneath (4px, 35% opacity, gaussian blur 3), and an area fill from 26% to 0% opacity of the series color. Event markers (failures) are #F43F5E dots on the line with radius 3 + 0.7 per event and a 1.5px panel-colored ring; a legend chip with the total sits in the panel header.
- Bar chart: hourly bars 70% of the bucket width, 2px top radius, the series color at 85% with a thin 100% top cap, same stacked-panel layout; failures as red caps on the affected bars.

Avoid: a second y axis, bright backgrounds, more than three accent colors, drop shadows, and proportional fonts.

When you're done, render the chart and check that each panel has its own scale and unit label, the glow is not clipped at panel edges, the status strip blocks align with the time buckets above, and the peak and cleared readouts are computed from the data.
