Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Radiology Viewer" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a measurement taken on a dark imaging workstation. Quiet dark gray, one crisp white line, a yellow region of interest, and small corner overlays like the ones a radiologist reads in the margins of an image.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Ground #1A1A1A across the whole canvas.
- Data line and crosshair #FFFFFF. Region of interest box and its labels #F0D23A yellow.
- Corner overlays and subtitle #A8A8A8; axis labels, anatomy labels and notes #6E6E6E; gridlines #303030; strip border and zero line #4A4A4A.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Roboto: title 500 22px #FFFFFF stating the finding; subtitle 400 13.5px #A8A8A8.
- Roboto Mono for everything else: corner overlays 11px uppercase (the window and level readout 500 12px white), axis labels 10.5px, the crosshair readout 500 11.5px, anatomy labels 9.5 to 10.5px uppercase with 1 to 1.5px letter-spacing.

Layout:
- Four corner overlays 28px from the edges: study and series at top left, "W 1500 L 300" and kernel at top right, image number and slice thickness at bottom left, zoom and tube voltage at bottom right.
- Title and subtitle start at x=104. Plot from x=104 to 856.
- Directly under the plot, a 22px grayscale strip the full plot width showing the windowed intensity along the x axis (gray = clamp((value - (level - width / 2)) / width) mapped to #000000 to #FFFFFF), outlined 1px #4A4A4A, with x ticks and labels below it.
- A vertical scale ruler at the right edge of the plot, drawn at the true x scale: 1px white, 3px ticks each unit, 6px at 5, 10px at 10, labeled "2 cm".

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal 1px #303030 gridlines at round values, labels right-aligned in mono #6E6E6E with the unit above the top label. A dotted (2 3) #4A4A4A zero line. No axis lines; the strip acts as the x axis.

Marks:
- Line chart: one 1.4px white straight-segment line through every sample, no smoothing and no markers. Crosshair at the peak: 0.8px white lines at 45% opacity spanning the plot (the vertical stops at the ROI box bottom) with a 9px gap around a 3px ring, plus a readout "16.2 mm 1,270 HU" on a dark patch. A 1.2px yellow rectangle marks the region of interest, with "ROI 1" and its mean below in yellow mono.
- Bar chart: thin 1px-gap bars in #FFFFFF at 85% opacity, each tinted by nothing but its height, with the same grayscale strip under the axis, the yellow ROI box around a group of bars, and the crosshair on the tallest bar.

Avoid: color other than white, grays and the single yellow, gradients or glows, rounded corners, legends, and patient names.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the grayscale strip matches the line (bright where it peaks), the ruler length equals the stated distance on the x scale, and no corner overlay collides with the title or plot.
