Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Pump Station" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a SCADA historian trend on a control room screen. Dark, quiet and engineering-grade: one glowing level trace, dashed setpoints and crisp stepped on/off lanes on a shared time axis.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #141B22 (dark slate); panel backgrounds #1A232C; gridlines #26323D.
- Continuous measurement: #7BC4F0 (light blue).
- Equipment status lanes: #6BCB77 (green), with a 16% opacity green fill under each ON period.
- Setpoints: start #E8B04B (amber), high / lag start #E6736B, stop #7E8D9A.
- Text #DCE4EA, secondary text #7E8D9A.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Kode Mono everywhere. Header tag 12px 500 uppercase, 1.2px letter-spacing, #7E8D9A. Title 24px 700 #DCE4EA stating the finding. Subtitle 13.5px #7E8D9A. Axis labels 12px. Setpoint labels 11px 500 uppercase in the setpoint color with the value ("LEAD START 2.4"). Lane labels 13px 700 green. Table header 10.5px uppercase, table cells 13px.

Layout:
- 56px margins. Header y 44, title 80, subtitle 106.
- Two stacked panels sharing one time axis, plot x 88 to 640: top panel for the measurement (y 140 to 332), bottom panel with three 26px lanes at a 46px pitch (y 364 to 502). Time labels (HH:00, every 3 hours) under the bottom panel only.
- Setpoint labels sit just right of the top panel. A run-summary table panel (#1A232C with a 1px #26323D border) from x 756 to 904: columns for name, starts, run hours, a total row, and a short note.

Axes and grid:
- 1px #26323D vertical gridlines every 3 hours through both panels and horizontal gridlines at whole units in the top panel. Y labels with one decimal, unit ("m") above the axis.

Marks:
- Line chart: the measurement as a 2.2px #7BC4F0 line with a soft glow (Gaussian blur 3, 55% opacity, merged under the line). Setpoints as full-width 1.2px dashed (6 4) lines. Status lanes as 2px #6BCB77 stepped lines between an OFF baseline and an ON top, with the ON periods filled. "ON" and "OFF" marked once at the right of the first lane.
- Bar chart: vertical bars in #7BC4F0 at 60% of the band with square corners, on the dark panel; setpoints as the same dashed lines; a lower lane strip of green blocks for equipment status if relevant.

Avoid: rainbow colors, thick lines, rounded panels, light backgrounds, and labels that sit on top of the trace.

When you're done, render the chart and check that both panels share exactly the same x positions, the table's run hours and starts match the lanes, the setpoint labels do not run into the table, and the glow is not clipped.
