Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Pressure Check" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: an exam-room monitor in a dimmed room. Charcoal glass, two soft instrument colors, one dashed white limit and a small yellow event flag.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #16181C (exam charcoal); plot panel #1C1F24 (a rounded 10px rectangle behind the chart).
- Series 1: #E86A5E (soft red). Series 2: #6A9BE8 (soft blue).
- Event flag: #F2C66D.
- Threshold line: #FFFFFF at 85% opacity. Region above the threshold: #E86A5E at 7% opacity.
- Main text #F1F2F4, secondary text #8E95A1, gridlines #2A2E35.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- M PLUS 1p throughout: title 27px 700 #F1F2F4, stating the finding; subtitle 15px 400 #8E95A1; legend 14px 500; axis labels 13px (x labels 500 #F1F2F4, y labels 400 #8E95A1); a year line under the first label of each year in 11.5px; flag text 12.5px 700 in #16181C; end badges 13.5px 800; end values 14px 700 in the series color; source 11.5px.

Layout:
- 56px left margin. Title baseline 60, subtitle 90, a small legend (hollow circle plus label per series) at the top right on the subtitle line.
- Panel from x 36 to 924, y 140 to 548. Plot from x 92 to 842 and y 160 to 486, leaving room on the right for end badges.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal gridlines every 5 units, 1px #2A2E35, y labels right-aligned 14px left of the plot with a small unit label ("mmHg") above them.
- No axis lines; 5px #8E95A1 ticks under each x position.
- Threshold: a full-width dashed line (7 on, 5 off, 1.4px) with its label right-aligned 8px above it ("21 mmHg threshold").

Marks:
- Line chart: 2.6px straight segments with round joins; hollow instrument-style points, radius 4.6, filled with the panel color and stroked 2.2px in the series color. At each line's end, a solid 11px-radius circle in the series color 30px to the right with a one-letter badge (R, L) in the page color, followed by the last value in the series color. Label the peak value above its point.
- Bar chart: grouped bars per visit, 2 bars of 18px with 4px between, square tops, the same colors, the dashed threshold across the bars, and the R and L badges at the top of the last pair.
- Event flag: a 1.4px #F2C66D vertical line at the event date, topped by a pennant (128 x 24 px with a notched right end) holding the event name ("Drops started").

Avoid: glow effects, gradient fills, filled markers, a second y-axis, more than two series colors, and neon saturation.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the end badges don't overlap each other, the flag sits between the right visits, the threshold label is clear of the lines, and the title's claim holds for every point after the event.
