Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Points Pace" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a sober league-analysis page from a data-minded sports desk. Warm off-white paper, compact heavy grotesque headline, four club colors and a reference pace line that tells you who is on track.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #F8F6F1. The not-yet-played region of the x axis is a flat tint #EFECE4.
- Series in order: #2F7D4F (green, the leader), #8C2F39 (maroon), #3E9BD6 (sky), #3D4046 (charcoal).
- Reference band (the chasing pack or any min-max range of other entities): #D9D5CC at 85% opacity.
- Ink for headline, the dashed pace line and baseline: #23211E. Secondary text: #77726A. Gridlines and footer rule: #DDD8CE.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Chivo throughout. Eyebrow 12px 700 uppercase with 2px letter-spacing in #2F7D4F; headline 27px 800 with -0.5px letter-spacing; subtitle 14px #77726A giving measure, progress ("after 30 of 38") and what the dashed line means; axis labels 12px; end-label names 14px 800 in the series color with a 12px regular #77726A line below ("69 pts, on course for 87"); band label 11px 700 uppercase with 1.2px letter-spacing; source 12px.

Layout:
- 56px margins. Eyebrow at y 50, headline at y 94, subtitle at y 122. Plot x 76 to 736, y 172 to 500. The right 170px is the end-label column.
- Footer rule at y 548; source left, a bold 12px key figure right ("Pace after MW30: 68 pts").

Axes and grid:
- 1px #DDD8CE horizontal gridlines at round values, a 1.2px ink baseline, y labels right-aligned 10px left of the plot. X labels as "MW1", "MW10" and so on, 22px below the baseline.
- The remaining (future) part of the x range is a tinted rectangle with a centered "TO PLAY" 10px 700 label near its top.

Marks:
- Line chart: straight-segment lines, 2.5px, round joins; the leader 3.5px and drawn on top. Each line ends in a r 4.5 dot with a 2px page-colored ring. The reference pace is a straight 1.5px ink dashed line (6 on, 5 off) running across the whole x range, labeled at its end in 12px 700 ink. A gray min-max band sits behind all lines with an uppercase label inside it.
- Bar chart: a horizontal bar per entity in the same four colors, 18px tall with square ends, the current value at the bar end in 14px 800 and a projected value as a hollow 1.5px outline extension in the same color; the pace target is a vertical 1.5px dashed ink line across all bars.

Labels and annotation:
- No legend. End labels sit to the right of the plot, connected to each dot by a 1px leader at 60% opacity; nudge labels to at least 36px apart vertically and keep them in rank order.

Avoid: smoothing, markers on every point, gradients, shadows, a legend box, and letting the band overpower the lines.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the projections equal points per game times total games, the end labels don't overlap, the band stays behind every line and the headline claim is true for the data.
