Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Plasma Levels" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a pharmacokinetics readout on a dark analysis screen. Monospaced, exact and warm against cold blue-gray: dose groups glow from pale yellow to deep red-orange, with a cool green band for the target range.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #141A22. Primary text: #E7EBF0. Secondary text and axes: #8A95A3. Gridlines: #2A3340.
- Series ramp from lowest to highest group: #FFF1B8, #F9B24A, #EC6B2C, #B52E22. Keep this order; the ramp encodes magnitude.
- Target band: #3FB08E at 13% opacity, with 1px dashed (3 3) edges at 80% opacity and a 600 11px label in #3FB08E.
- Annotations: #E7EBF0.

Typography (Google Fonts): Victor Mono for everything.
- Eyebrow: 400 12px, 0.6px letter-spacing, #8A95A3, starting with "// ". Title: 600 26px, -0.6px letter-spacing, #E7EBF0, stating the finding. Subtitle: 400 13.5px #8A95A3.
- Tick labels 12.5px; axis title in italic 400 12px ("hours after dose" with an arrow); series end labels 600 12.5px in series colors; annotations 600 12px.

Layout:
- 56px margins. Plot from about x 104 to x 850, y 158 to y 486, leaving 60px on the right for direct series labels at each line's end. Footer with "Source: ..." at left and an italic method note at right, both 11.5px.

Axes and grid:
- Log y axis for concentration: gridlines at each decade (1, 10, 100, 1,000) in 1px #2A3340, 4px minor ticks at 2 to 9 on the axis, 1px #8A95A3 left and bottom axis lines. Linear x axis with ticks every 6 units.

Marks:
- Line chart: smooth 2.2px lines per group. Each observation is an open circle (r 3.2, background fill, 1.6px series-color ring) with multiplicative error whiskers (1px, 5px caps, 85% opacity). The target band spans the plot behind the data. For the top group, mark the half-life on the terminal phase with a dotted (3 3) horizontal from one point to the time one half-life later and a dotted vertical down to where the concentration has halved, 2.5px dots at both ends, "t½ = 8.0 h" above and "÷2" beside it; ring the point where it crosses the band ceiling with a 4.5px open circle and its time.
- Bar chart: vertical bars per group in the same ramp with 2px top corners on the same dark grid (linear y from zero, since bar length must be honest), the target band behind, value labels 600 12px in the series colors above bars, and multiplicative whiskers kept as thin 1px lines.

Avoid: glow effects, gradients, sans-serif type, rainbow palettes, and a legend box (label the lines at their ends).

When you're done, render the chart and check that the log axis has minor ticks, the four series labels at the right do not collide, the deepest series is still visible on the background, and the numbers in the title and annotations match the curves.
