Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Pitch Arsenal" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a dark scouting card from a modern analytics dashboard. Charcoal panels, a geometric grotesk, four bold category colors and tidy tabular numbers. Technical and confident.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #16181D (charcoal). Panels: #1E2128 with a 1px #2B2F38 border; gridlines and table rules also #2B2F38.
- Categories, in stacking order from the baseline up: #E63946 (fastball red), #3F7FC4 (curve blue), #F4D35E (slider yellow), #2A9D8F (changeup green).
- Primary text #F1F3F5, secondary text #8B919C. Text inside yellow segments #1A1B1F; inside the other colors #FFFFFF.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Space Grotesk throughout with tabular figures. Title 700 29px #F1F3F5 with -0.4px letter-spacing, stating the finding with its number. Subtitle 400 16px #8B919C. Eyebrow 500 12px uppercase with 1.8px letter-spacing, led by an 8px red square. In-segment values 700 17px (11px for segments under 8%). Category labels 700 14px uppercase with 1.6px letter-spacing and an 11px detail line beneath. Axis labels 11px. Table: heading 700 12px uppercase 2px letter-spacing, column heads 500 10px uppercase 1.4px letter-spacing, names 600 15px, key values 700 17px, secondary values 13px #8B919C.

Layout:
- 48px margins. Eyebrow, title and subtitle across the top. Below them two panels with 12px corner radius side by side: the chart panel (about 560px wide) and an inset table panel (about 284px wide) with a 20px gutter, both about 410px tall.
- The inset table doubles as the legend: each row starts with a 4 x 18px rounded color tab, then the category name with a short code beneath, then right-aligned numeric columns. Rows about 60px apart with 1px rules between them and a one-line takeaway at the panel foot.
- Footer: "Source: ..." at left and a short method note at right, 12px #8B919C.

Axes and grid:
- 100% stacked scale with gridlines at 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% in 1px #2B2F38, labels right-aligned at the left in 11px. No axis lines, no ticks.

Marks:
- Bar chart: wide columns (104px at three categories) split into segments with 3px corner radius and a 2px gap between segments, the percentage centered inside each. Between neighboring columns, draw faint ribbons (each segment's color at 13% opacity) joining the matching segment edges so shifts in mix read at a glance.
- Line chart: one 3px line per category in the same four colors with 5px dots, the value labeled at each point in 700 13px, and a 13% opacity band of the category color under the top line only; the same side table panel acts as the legend.

Avoid: gradients, glows, drop shadows, 3D, a separate legend box, and more than the four category colors.

When you're done, render the chart and check that every column sums to exactly 100%, the table's season shares are the pitch-weighted averages of the columns, text inside yellow is dark and readable, and the ribbons line up with the segment edges.
