Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Pavilion Mix" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a food fair's year-in-review screen. Warm and festive on deep plum, with stall-fascia blocks that make totals and names look like signs above booths.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Canvas: #1E1328 (deep plum). Fascia blocks: #2E2139.
- Series in stacking order (bottom to top): #FF7A6B (coral), #F5C04A (gold), #3FD3C6 (aqua), #F4EEF6 (soft white). Gold also for the eyebrow and the 3px top edge of each total fascia.
- Primary text: #F4EEF6. Secondary text: #A898B8. Gridlines and dividers: #34253F.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Syne 800 for the title (36px, -0.6px spacing, #F4EEF6, a short finding; Syne is very wide, so keep it under about 30 characters).
- Chivo for everything else: eyebrow 12px 700 uppercase with 2.5px spacing in gold; subtitle 16px #A898B8; fascia totals 14px 700; category labels 14px (latest one 700 in #F4EEF6); name tags 11px 700 uppercase with 1.2px spacing plus an 11px secondary line; axis labels 12px; footer 12px.

Layout:
- Eyebrow at x 56, y 50; title at y 94; subtitle at y 124.
- Plot from x 96 to 720, baseline at y 424. Name tags to the right of the latest bar, one per series at the middle of its segment: a 1.5px connector in the series color, then a 170 x 34 #2E2139 block with a 6px series-colored left edge, the name and "84 in 2026, 38 in 2022".
- A secondary strip below (1px #34253F dividers at y 458 and 534) for a second measure, never on a second axis: label "OVERSEAS EXHIBITORS / share of total" at the left, dots aligned with the bars, joined by a 1px dotted #F4EEF6 line (1 on, 4 off), each dot 4.5px radius, plum fill, 2px soft-white ring, its value centered 11px above it.
- Footer at y 566: "Source: ..." left, a one-line arithmetic note right.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal 1px #34253F gridlines at round values, labels right-aligned 12px left of the plot. A 1.2px #A898B8 baseline. No vertical grid.

Marks:
- Bar chart: 72px square-cornered stacked bars with a 1.5px plum stroke separating segments. On top of each bar a 72 x 26 fascia block (#2E2139, 3px gold top edge) 6px above the stack showing the total.
- Line chart: 3px lines in the four series colors with 5px dots in plum with a 2px colored ring; the fascia name tags at the line ends replace the legend; the total runs as a thin 1.5px #A898B8 line with fascia total blocks above each point.

Avoid: a secondary y axis, gradients, rounded bar corners, a boxed legend, text set in coral or aqua on plum.

When you're done, render the chart and check that name tags do not overlap each other, the title fits on one line, totals equal the sum of segments, and the dot strip values are readable above the dotted line.
