Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Orbit Pass" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a satellite tracking display in a mission operations room. Deep space navy, a faint graticule, thin glowing cyan traces and one amber limit line.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #060B19 with a radial glow toward #0B1430 slightly above center.
- Data traces: #22D3EE (cyan). Limit / mask line and its labels: #FBBF24 (amber), with a 5% amber wash below it.
- Graticule: #15213D. Axis baseline #34466F. Bright readouts #E6EEFF, labels #7F8DB0, footer #56648A. Panel fill #0A1228 with a #1F2C4D border.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Orbitron for the title (700, 28px, 0.5px letter-spacing, #E6EEFF, stating the finding) and the panel headings (600 9.5px with 2px spacing, and 700 13px for the station name).
- Space Mono for everything else: a 700 11px cyan kicker with 2px letter-spacing ("TESSERA-4 // 24 H TRACK"), subtitle 12.5px #7F8DB0, axis labels 11px, peak labels 700 11.5px #E6EEFF, contact windows 9.5px, footer 10px.

Layout:
- 56px margins. Kicker at y 54, title at y 94, subtitle at y 124.
- A ground station panel in the top right (236 x 104 at x 668, y 34) with 12px cyan corner brackets (1.4px) at all four corners: heading, station name, coordinates, and the mask in amber.
- Plot from x 80 to 900, y 176 to 470. Below it, a contact window strip at y 514: an 8px cyan bar for each above-mask interval with its "HH:MM-HH:MM" range centered underneath, and "AOS" / "LOS" labels at the left.
- Footer at y 580: "Source: ..." left, a legend of abbreviations right.

Axes and grid:
- Graticule lines every hour and every 15 units: 1px at the major steps (6 hours, 30 degrees), 0.6px otherwise, all #15213D. Y labels with the degree sign, 10px left of the plot; X labels "HH:00" every 3 hours, 20px below.
- Amber mask label at the left axis instead of inside the plot ("10°" in 700 11px with a tiny "MASK" under it), so no label sits on the data.

Marks:
- Line chart: 1.8px cyan arcs with round joins and a glow (Gaussian blur 3.2 merged under the stroke, filter region the full canvas). At each crossing of the mask, draw a 14px vertical #E6EEFF tick (1.6px). Put a 2.6px #E6EEFF dot on each peak with the value above it.
- Bar chart: slim cyan bars (about 40% of the band) with the same glow, bars below the mask line drawn at 45% opacity, value labels in 700 11.5px #E6EEFF above each bar, and the amber dashed mask line over them.
- Limit: a 1.3px #FBBF24 dashed line (6 on, 4 off) across the plot.

Avoid: filled areas under the arcs, multiple trace colors, thick lines, glows that get clipped at the plot edge, and bright gridlines.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the ticks sit exactly on the mask crossings, the contact windows match those crossings, the contact total in the title adds up, and the glow is not clipped.
