Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "OEE Trend" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a plant-floor performance display above a packaging line. Dark charcoal, one bright green headline line, quieter component lines and a huge current figure you can read from the forklift lane.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #1C1F22. Readout card: #24282C with a 1px #2F353A border and a 5px #3DDC84 left accent bar.
- Headline series: #3DDC84 (bright green).
- Component series: #8FA3BC (slate), #F0A93B (amber), #E8697A (soft red).
- Target band: #CFF5DE (pale green) at 9% fill opacity with a 1.2px #CFF5DE line at 70% opacity on its lower edge.
- Gridlines #34393F; baseline #4A5057; labels #C4CBD2; dim text #838C96; title #F2F4F6.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Barlow Semi Condensed throughout. Eyebrow 600 13px uppercase with 2px letter-spacing in #838C96; title 600 30px stating the finding; subtitle 17px #C4CBD2.
- Readout: caption 600 12px uppercase with 1.4px letter-spacing; the figure 700 60px green with a 28px "%" suffix; delta line 600 14px green; component product 500 13px.
- Axis ticks 500 14px dim; shift letters 500 13px; day names 700 13px uppercase with 1.4px letter-spacing; end labels 600 15px in the series color (the headline 700 18px); band label 700 11px uppercase with 1.4px letter-spacing in #CFF5DE.

Layout:
- 40px side margins. Eyebrow, title and subtitle on the left; the readout card in the top right (x 676 to 930, about 138px tall) with the caption, the current figure, the gap to target and the component product ("A 91.0 x P 95.6 x Q 98.2").
- Plot from x 72 to 780; direct end labels ("Quality 98.2", "OEE 85.4") to the right of the plot instead of a legend.
- Two-level x axis: shift letters under each point, day names centered under each group, with 1px #34393F separators between days running down through the labels. A formula note bottom left, source bottom right.

Axes and grid:
- Y axis 60 to 100 with 1px #34393F gridlines every 10; no axis line. The band covers the target (85) to the top of the plot, labeled at its top-left corner.

Marks:
- Line chart: the headline series is a 4.5px #3DDC84 line (round caps and joins) over a 9px background-colored halo, with hollow markers (r 3.5, #1C1F22 fill, 2.2px green stroke) and a solid r 6.5 marker on the latest point; label its first value under the first point. Component lines are 2px straight segments with a small r 3.5 dot on their last point only.
- Bar chart: grouped or single bars with the headline measure as bright green square-cornered bars (about 55% of the band) and components as thin slate, amber and soft red bars or ticks beside them; keep the target band, the readout card and direct value labels in the series colors.

Avoid: smoothing, gradients on lines, a boxed legend, glows, light backgrounds and more than one bright accent.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the headline value equals the product of its components for every shift, the end labels don't collide, the readout figure matches the last point, and the title's claim about the target is true.
