Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Night Audit" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a property management system terminal at 2:47 in the morning. Fixed-width, near-black, amber and pale green, with audit totals printed in brackets like a report run at end of day.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #0D110E. Header bar: #18201A with a 1px #2B372D bottom edge.
- Actual / primary series: #F2B233 (amber). Forecast / comparison series: #86D3B0 (pale green).
- Primary text: #D7E3D2. Dim text, axis baseline and brackets: #7E8F80. Grid: #2B372D.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Share Tech Mono for every character, with white-space preserved so padded spaces survive. Header 14px; title 22px uppercase starting with "> "; subtitle 14px uppercase; legend 13px; tick labels 12.5px; annotations 11.5px in brackets ("[CONGRESS BLOCK]"); totals labels 13px; totals values 24px; source 12px.

Layout:
- A 34px header bar: property code and name left ("PROP: CRVP CORVIN PLAZA"), report name centered in dim, business date and time right in amber.
- Title at y 72, subtitle at y 98 (both left at x 24), legend right-aligned on the subtitle line: a 28px solid amber stroke with "ACTUAL" and a dashed green stroke with "FORECAST", each label in its line's color.
- Plot from x 96 to 904 and y 132 to 388. Below it a 1px dashed #2B372D separator, a "PERIOD TOTALS ....." leader line, then four fixed-width columns 228px apart: "[ LABEL" at the left and "]" at the right of each column, the value right-aligned beneath in 24px (the money total in amber). A green summary line (forecast, variance in points, capacity) and a source at the bottom right, plus a small amber block cursor.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal gridlines every 10 points as 1px #2B372D dotted (1 on, 4 off), a solid #7E8F80 baseline, y labels with a % sign. Faint dotted verticals at each week start. Date ticks at the first of each month in DD-MON format; the last date in amber at the right end.

Marks:
- Line chart: actual as a 2.2px amber polyline with straight segments and a soft glow (Gaussian blur 2.2 merged under the line); forecast as a 1.6px pale green dashed line (5 on, 4 off). The final actual point is an 8px square in amber with its value to the left.
- Bar chart: square-cornered amber columns with the forecast drawn as a pale green dashed horizontal tick across each column, same bracketed totals row beneath.

Avoid: proportional fonts, rounded corners, bright white, gradients, smoothing the polyline, and big glows that blur the data.

When you're done, render the chart and check that padded spaces are preserved, the totals are arithmetically consistent (occupancy = rooms sold / rooms available), columns align in fixed width, and the glow is not clipped.
