Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Module Heat" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the thermal page of an industrial monitoring console. Gunmetal, condensed technical type, bars that literally run cold to hot, and one glowing limit line that everything is judged against.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #1A1D21 (gunmetal). Group panels: #202429 at 60% opacity. Gridlines: #2C3238; the zero line and group rules: #4A525C.
- Thermal ramp, interpolated by value: #2F6BFF at 24, #22C3D6 at 31, #F2CB3F at 37, #FF7A2E at 42, #FF2E3F at 47 and above.
- Limit line: #FF9636. Primary text: #E8EBEF. Secondary text: #8A929C.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Rajdhani throughout: eyebrow 600, 14px, 2.4px letter-spacing, uppercase, #8A929C; title 700, 32px, #E8EBEF, stating the finding; subtitle 500, 17px, #8A929C; axis labels 600, 14px; bar labels 500, 11.5px; group headers 700, 15px, 1.6px letter-spacing, uppercase, with the group average in 500 14px right-aligned; limit label 700, 13px, 1.4px letter-spacing; readout 600, 13px header and 700, 22px value.

Layout:
- 56px margins. Eyebrow at y 58, title at y 96, subtitle at y 122. A 188 x 6 px ramp key with its end values at the top right (x 716 to 904, y 156).
- Plot from x 96 to 904, y 196 to 486, split into groups separated by 28px gaps. Each group has a faint panel behind its bars, bar labels 18px below the baseline, then a 1.5px rule and the group header with its average 54px below the baseline.

Axes and grid:
- Bars start at zero. 1px #2C3238 gridlines every 10 units with labels right-aligned 12px left of the plot; the zero line in #4A525C.
- The limit: a 1.4px dashed line (8 on, 5 off) in #FF9636 over a 3px copy at 55% opacity blurred by 3.5px for a faint glow, labeled at the left end above the line ("DERATING 45 °C").

Marks:
- Bar chart: bars 70% of their slot, 2px rounded tops only, each filled with the ramp color for its own value. The hottest item gets a boxed readout: a 118 x 46 px box with a 1.2px #E8EBEF stroke and gunmetal fill beside it, joined by a 1px elbow leader, showing its ID and value, the value in its ramp color.
- Line chart: one 2.5px line per group in #8A929C with each point drawn as a 6px dot in its ramp color, so heat still reads point by point; the same glowing limit line and boxed readout on the hottest point.

Avoid: a single bar color, legends (the ramp key replaces them), rounded bottoms, strong glows on the bars, and truncated axes.

When you're done, render the chart and check that each bar's color matches its value on the ramp, the readout names the true maximum, the glow is not clipped, and the group averages are right.
