Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Model Drift" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a model-monitoring terminal on a risk team's second screen. Dark, technical and calm: one mint line, threshold bands that tell you the state at a glance, and a boxed status readout.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #141516 (terminal gray). Plot panel: #1B1C1E.
- Data line and markers: #5EEAD4 (mint). Marker fill is the background color, so markers read as hollow squares.
- Threshold bands at 9% opacity: #3FB67A (stable green) below the first threshold, #F2B33D (amber) between thresholds, #F05D5E (red) above the upper threshold. The two threshold lines are 1px dashed 6 on 4 off in amber and red at 80% opacity.
- Text #D6D8DB, dim text #7C8087, minor gridlines #2A2C2F, title #F2F3F4.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Darker Grotesque 800, 36px, #F2F3F4 for the title only, stating the finding.
- Inconsolata for everything else: a prompt-style command line above the title in 400 13px dim (for example "$ monitor --model retail-pd-v4 --metric psi --window 18m"); subtitle 400 14px dim; axis labels 400 12px; band names 700 11px with 1px letter-spacing in the band color, their ranges 400 10px dim; callouts 700 12 to 14px; source 400 11px.

Layout:
- 48px margins. Command line, title and subtitle stacked top left. The status box sits at the right under the title: 212 x 54, 3px radius, 1.5px amber stroke, amber fill at 8% opacity, with "STATUS" (11px, 2px letter-spacing, dim), an amber 10px square and "MONITOR" in 700 20px amber with 2px letter-spacing, and the latest value and month right aligned. Use the color of the current state (green, amber or red).
- Plot panel from x 88 to 880, y 204 to 484. Band names and ranges in a column just right of the panel, top-aligned in each band.

Axes and grid:
- Y labels with two decimals every 0.05, right aligned 10px left of the panel, the two threshold values colored amber and red. Minor gridlines 1px #2A2C2F.
- X: 4px ticks every month, labels like "Jan 26" every third month and at the last month.
- Events (retrains, releases) are 14px-wide light gray (#D6D8DB) triangles pointing up from just under the x axis, a faint dotted vertical guide (1px, 22% opacity, 2 on 3 off) through the panel, and a bold uppercase label ("RETRAIN JUL 26") under the axis labels.

Marks:
- Line chart: a 2.2px mint line with straight segments, broken at each event (a new model starts a new series). Every point is an 8px square marker with a 1.8px mint stroke; a point above the upper threshold is filled solid red with a red "0.27 BREACH" label above it. The latest point is a solid 12px mint square with its value in 700 14px mint.
- Bar chart: slim square-cornered columns (about 40% of the band) with a 1.8px mint outline and background fill over the same bands, columns above the upper threshold solid red, the latest column solid mint, event triangles on the axis.

Avoid: glows, gradients, rounded corners, more than one data color, a legend (the bands and callouts label everything), smoothing the line.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the status box matches the band of the latest value, event triangles sit between the right months, breach markers are exactly the points above the upper threshold, and the title's timing claim is true.
