Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Mindful Minutes" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the weekly summary in a meditation app at night. Quiet, soft and spacious: deep indigo, gently glowing rounded bars, rounded type and very little ink.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #1A1740 (deep indigo), with a soft radial lift behind the plot (centered at 52% x, 60% y, radius 60%: #3A3380 at 85% opacity, #2A2560 at 35% at the 60% stop, fading to transparent).
- Daytime sessions: #B4A6F0 (muted lilac). Evening sessions: #E3A6C1 (dusty rose), lightening to #F6CFE0 at the bar top.
- Headline and key figures: #EDE9FF. Secondary text: #9C96C9. Faint rules and hollow markers: #5E5896.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Quicksand for the headline (31px 500 #EDE9FF, stating the finding: "You met your 15-minute goal on 10 of 14 days"), the total chip (14.5px 600) and the value labels on the bars (13.5px 600; #EDE9FF for goal days, #9C96C9 otherwise).
- Nunito Sans for small labels: subtitle 14.5px 400 #9C96C9, legend 12.5px 600, weekday initials 12.5px 600, axis labels 12px 600, the app and date eyebrow 11.5px 700 uppercase with 2px letter-spacing, and the source 11.5px 400.

Layout:
- 56px side margins and generous negative space. Top left: a total-minutes chip (176 x 34, radius 17, lilac at 14% opacity with a lilac 35% border and a small hollow lilac ring icon). Eyebrow right-aligned opposite it.
- Headline and subtitle, a small legend, then the plot (about 240px tall). Under the bars: weekday initials, then a streak row of small circles (filled lilac r 6 on goal days, hollow #5E5896 r 5.2 on other days) labelled "Goal", then week labels, with a faint vertical divider between weeks.

Axes and grid:
- Very faint horizontal gridlines every 10 minutes, 1px #5E5896 at 35% opacity (baseline 80%). Sparse y labels on the left.
- Goal line: #EDE9FF at 75% opacity, 2px round-cap dots every 6px across the plot, with the goal value "15" (800 weight) and a small "goal" label under it on the axis.

Marks:
- Bar chart: rounded vertical bars 30px wide with a 12px top radius. Stack daytime (bottom, lilac) and evening (top, dusty rose) with a 3px gap between them; only the top segment is rounded. Each segment carries a vertical gradient that is dimmer at the base (lilac 55% opacity, rose 70%) and full strength at the top, plus a short soft white highlight (35% opacity, blurred) at the very top of the bar. A small crescent moon in #1A1740 at 55% opacity sits inside each evening segment as a second cue. Totals above each bar; a label that would sit on the goal line moves just above it.
- Line chart: a 3px lilac line with a soft glow and gentle monotone curves, a rose second series if needed, small r 4 dots, the same dotted goal line and streak row, and a lilac area fill fading from 30% to 0%.

Avoid: bright or saturated colors, hard edges, heavy gridlines, crowded labels, and any alarm colors for missed days.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the goal count, total minutes and evening-day count match the data, the streak circles line up with the bars, and the lilac and rose segments stay distinguishable (gap, stacking order and moon glyph).
