Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Metric Guardrails" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: an engineering-grade monitoring board for experiment guardrails. Dark, quiet and scannable: everything is teal and calm until one row goes coral.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #0D1117. Row cards: #151B24 with a 1px #232B36 border and 8px radius.
- Passing series, allowed bands and pass pills: #2DD4BF (teal). Allowed band fill is teal at 9% opacity.
- Breaching series and pill: #FB7185 (coral). The breaching card's border turns coral at 55% opacity and gets a 4px coral bar on its left edge.
- Text #E6EDF3, secondary text #8B949E. Zero lines #8B949E at 35% opacity.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Onest: title 700 30px with -0.4px letter-spacing naming the breach; subtitle 400 14.5px #8B949E; metric names 600 17px.
- Fragment Mono (400): eyebrow 11px uppercase with 1.6px letter-spacing; rule text ("fail if > +5.0%") 11.5px; current delta 22px (coral on the failing row); "day 14" captions 10.5px; limit labels 10px; pills 12px uppercase with 1.2px letter-spacing; source 10.5px.

Layout:
- 40px margins. Eyebrow, title and subtitle at top. Below, one card per metric (about 880 x 92, 10px gaps). Inside each card: name and rule text at the left (about 230px), a sparkline from x 290 to 720, the current delta right-aligned at x 806 with its period below, and a 70 x 26 pill at the right edge.
- Day labels for the first and last points sit once under the stack, aligned to the sparkline ends.

Axes and grid:
- No axes. Each sparkline has its own vertical scale; a faint zero line and a 1px dashed (3 3) limit line (teal, or coral on the failing row, 60% opacity) with its value right-aligned just left of the sparkline.

Marks:
- Line chart: 2px lines with round joins, teal for passing rows and coral for the breaching row, the allowed band shaded from the limit toward the safe side, a 3.5px dot on the last point, and on the breaching row a hollow 4px coral ring at the first breach with a small "day N" label.
- Bar chart: each row becomes a strip of slim daily bars (3px wide, 2px gaps) from the zero line in teal, with bars beyond the limit in coral; keep the band, limit line, delta and pill.
- Pills: pass = transparent teal fill (12%) with a 1px teal border and teal text; fail = solid coral with #0D1117 text.

Avoid: red and green together, more than one accent beyond teal and coral, gridlines, large chart titles per row, and shared y scales across rows.

When you're done, render the chart and check that only rows whose latest value is beyond the limit show FAIL, the first-breach day matches the data, and limit labels never collide with the delta numbers.
