Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Member Visits" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the monthly report of a private spa club. Discreet luxury: deep moss green, brushed gold bars, a cream highlight and a small members card, like a leather-bound ledger.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #13241B (deep moss) with a 1px #22382B inset frame 24px from each edge (6px radius).
- Bars: brushed gold, a horizontal gradient #B8964A at 0%, #C8A657 at 45%, #D4B46A at 55%, #B8964A at 100%. The current period: solid #F0E7CF (cream).
- Comparison line: #E8DDBE over a 4.5px #13241B halo at 70% opacity.
- Title and highlights: #F0E7CF. Secondary text: #8FA595. Gridlines: #22382B. Card: #1A3024 fill with a 1px #2C4636 border.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Forum 400 for the title (32px, cream, sentence case, stating the finding) and the card figure (40px).
- Manrope for everything else: eyebrow 12px 600 uppercase with 3px letter-spacing in gold; subtitle 16px #8FA595; axis labels 12.5px; month labels 13px 500 (the current month 700 cream); value callouts 15px 700 cream for the current bar and 13px 600 gold for the peak; card label 10.5px 600 uppercase with 2px letter-spacing; card change 12.5px 600 gold after a small gold up triangle; legend 13px; source 12px.

Layout:
- 64px side margins inside the frame; eyebrow at y 70, title at y 114, subtitle at y 144.
- A members card top right (196 x 100 px, 10px radius, right edge at x 896): label, big figure, change line.
- Plot from x 96 to x 896, baseline at y 486, top of scale at y 206. A legend row at y 546 (14px swatches with 3px radius and a 26px line sample) with the source right-aligned.

Axes and grid:
- No axis lines and no baseline rule. Four 1px #22382B gridlines with thousands-separated labels right-aligned 12px left of the plot.

Marks:
- Bar chart: 40px bars (about 60% of the band) with 8px rounded top corners in the brushed gold gradient, the current period in solid cream. Only the peak and current bars carry value labels, 14px above the bar. Last year's values are a thin stepped line: a flat 1.6px #E8DDBE segment across each band (inset 4px) joined by short diagonal risers, drawn over the bars with its dark halo.
- Line chart: a 2.5px gold line with gold dots (r 4), the current point a larger cream dot (r 6) with its value label, and last year as the same thin stepped cream line; a faint gold area fill at 10% opacity under this year's line.

Avoid: bright greens, flat yellow, drop shadows, a heavy frame, labels on every bar, and more than one highlighted period.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the gradient reads as brushed metal (not stripes), the step line is visible over every bar, the "N of 12 months" count and the percentages match the data, and the title clears the members card.
