Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Lullaby Night" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a bedtime app's calm evening report. Deep indigo sky, a few pale stars, soft moonlight on the main line. Quiet, gentle and legible, never neon.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #1B1D4A (deep indigo). Plot card: #23265C with a #B7A6F2 edge.
- Main series: #F6D77A (moon yellow). Comparison series: #B7A6F2 (lavender). A third series, if needed: #7FCBD9 at 2px.
- Text: #F5EEDC (soft cream) for title and labels, #A9A6C9 for secondary text and ticks. Gridlines #3A3D78, baseline #5A5D9E.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Quicksand throughout. Title 700 32px #F5EEDC, stating the finding. Subtitle 500 15px #A9A6C9. Legend 700 14px cream. Tick labels 600 13px #A9A6C9. Annotation headline 700 16px cream, its second line 500 13px. End values 700 14px in the series color. Source 500 12px.

Layout:
- Title baseline y 76 at x 56, subtitle y 106. Stars live only in the top strip (y below about 122) and stay clear of the text: about 15 dots, r 0.6 to 1.7, #F5EEDC at 35% to 85% opacity, plus two tiny four-point twinkles (6px and 4.5px) at the right.
- Card from x 40 to 920, y 140 to 532, radius 26. Legend inside the card at top-left (y 174): a 28px line swatch per series at the series' stroke width, then its name.
- Plot from x 104 to 846, y 214 to 470. Source at the bottom-left below the card, unit note at the bottom-right.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal gridlines only: 1px #3A3D78 dotted (dasharray 2 5, round caps); a solid 1.4px #5A5D9E baseline. Four or so round ticks. Y labels right-aligned 22px left of the plot; x labels like "Wk 1" 26px below.

Marks:
- Line chart: the main line is a smooth monotone curve, 3.5px #F6D77A with round caps, over a 7px copy at 35% opacity blurred by 4px (a soft moonlight glow), and a fill beneath it from #F6D77A at 22% opacity at the top fading to 0 by 75% of the way down. The comparison line is 2px #B7A6F2, smooth, no fill, no glow. End dots r 4.5 (main) and r 3.5 (comparison) with the last value 12px to the right in the series color.
- Bar chart: rounded-top bars (radius 8) in #F6D77A with a very soft 4px glow, comparison bars in #B7A6F2 at the same width beside them with 4px gap, value labels in 700 14px above in the series color. Keep the same card, stars and legend.

Labels and annotation:
- Mark the peak with an r 5 moon-yellow dot and a thin r 10 ring at 45% opacity. The label sits up and to the left: a small crescent glyph (about 24px tall, moon yellow), "Peak: 22.8 min" and a second line naming the period, joined to the dot by a dotted 1.2px cream leader at 60% opacity.

Effects:
- Card edge glow: a 6px #B7A6F2 stroke at 28% opacity blurred by 8px behind the card, and a crisp 1.2px #B7A6F2 edge at 45% opacity. Give every blur filter a user-space region covering the full canvas so nothing clips.

Avoid: dense starfields, stars behind the data, pure white text, neon glows, saturated purples, and more than one annotation.

When you're done, render the chart and check that stars never touch the title or card, the fill fades out well before the baseline, the peak label does not cover the line, and the glow is not clipped at the card corners.
