Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "LTV Buckets" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: an underwriting dashboard on near-black. A traffic-light ramp that turns from green through yellow to red as risk rises, a hard dashed threshold and one huge condensed number. Blunt, confident, poster-like.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #121212. Gridlines: #262626. Zero line, ticks and panel dividers: #4A4A48 and #2E2E2E.
- Primary text: #F2F2F0. Secondary text: #8E8E8A.
- Risk ramp, low to high: #2FA36B, #3DB06A, #5CBC62, #86C656, #B5CF4C, #E2D045 (yellow, the last safe bucket), then past the threshold #F2A93B, #EE8236, #E85A34, #D93A3A.
- The big share figure uses #E85A34; its eyebrow #EE8236; the secondary stat #E2D045.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Big Shoulders Display: title 800, 42px, all caps, 0.5px letter-spacing, #F2F2F0, stating the finding; hero figure 800, 118px with a 700 56px "%" suffix; secondary stat 800, 40px.
- Barlow: eyebrow 600, 12px uppercase, 2.2px letter-spacing; subtitle 400, 15px, #8E8E8A; value labels 500, 12px, #F2F2F0; axis labels 12.5px (the threshold tick 700 in #F2F2F0); axis title 600, 12px, 1.2px letter-spacing; threshold label 700, 12px uppercase, 1.6px letter-spacing; panel text 600 16px and 400 13.5 to 14px; source 11.5px.

Layout:
- 56px left margin. Eyebrow at y 56, title at y 112, subtitle at y 142.
- Histogram from x 88 to 660 and y 214 to 510. A 1px #2E2E2E vertical divider at x 692 separates a right-hand stat panel starting at x 712: eyebrow, hero percentage, a bold count line and a gray explanation, a 1px rule, then a secondary stat.
- Source line at y 578.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal gridlines only, 1px #262626, labeled right-aligned 12px left of the plot, with a small uppercase unit label ("LOANS") above the axis.
- Ticks and labels at bucket edges ("80%"), not bucket centers, with a centered axis title under them.

Marks:
- Bar chart: a true histogram. Square-cornered bars span their full bucket with only a 2px gap, each colored by its position on the risk ramp. Counts sit 7px above each bar. A 1.4px #F2F2F0 dashed vertical line (5 on, 4 off) at the threshold rises 30px above the plot with "INSURANCE REQUIRED" and a small gray qualifier beside its top.
- Line chart: a 3px line colored with a horizontal gradient following the same ramp (green before the threshold, orange to red after), 4px dots at each point in their ramp color, the same dashed threshold line and the same right-hand stat panel.

Avoid: rounded bars, gaps wider than 2px, a legend (the ramp and threshold explain themselves), glows, gradients on the bars, and lowercase titles.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the colors turn warm exactly at the threshold, the hero percentage equals the count above the threshold divided by the total, the title stays inside the canvas, and the count labels never touch the dashed line.
