Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Loyalty Tiers" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the membership slide of a premium rewards program. Dark charcoal, restrained metallic tones and a geometric sans. Polished, quiet luxury, not casino glitter.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #18191C (charcoal).
- Tier colors, each used as a subtle vertical gradient (lighter top, base at 45%, deeper bottom):
  - Bronze: #C08A62 to #A9714B to #8A5A3A.
  - Pewter silver: #B6BBC1 to #9DA3AA to #80868D.
  - Soft gold: #E3C47C to #D4B062 to #B08E45.
  - Platinum: #F1F2EE to #E3E4E0 to #C4C6C1.
- Title rule and accents: #D4B062. Primary text: #F0EEEA. Secondary text: #9A9893. Captions and source: #65635F. Rules: #2E2F33. Chips: #24252A fill with a #2E2F33 border.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Montserrat throughout, tabular figures on numbers.
- Eyebrow 11px 600 uppercase with 2.4px letter-spacing, #9A9893. Title 28px 600 with -0.4px letter-spacing, stating the finding. Subtitle 14px 400 #9A9893.
- Tier names 14px 700 uppercase with 1.6px letter-spacing in the tier's base color; qualifying rule under each in 12px 500 #9A9893.
- Counts 19px 700; share line under each in 11px 500. Chip values 12px 600. Column captions ("TIER", "STEP-UP") 10px 600 uppercase with 1.8px letter-spacing.

Layout:
- 56px side margins. Eyebrow, title, then a short 56 x 2 px gold rule 16px under the title, then the subtitle.
- Left column for tier names (each with a 3 x 32 px bar in the tier color at its left), the funnel centered at about x 500, and a narrow right column for step-up chips.
- A 1px rule and a one-line explanatory note under the funnel; source at the bottom in 11.5px #65635F.

Axes and grid:
- No axes or gridlines. Behind every bar, a faint full-width guide (white at 2.5%) the size of the largest bar, so each tier reads against the base.

Marks:
- Bar chart: one centered horizontal bar per category, 66px tall with 8px gaps and 3px radius, width proportional to the value (never a nonlinear scale), filled with the tier's gradient and a 1px white highlight at 35% along the top edge. Put the count (and its share of the base) centered inside bars at least 110px wide in a dark tone of the tier color; for narrower bars put them just right of the bar in #F0EEEA and #9A9893. Between consecutive tiers, on the right, a 74 x 26 fully rounded chip with a small up triangle in the upper tier's color and the step-up rate, joined to the funnel by a dashed 2 on 3 #2E2F33 leader.
- Line chart: one 2.5px line per tier in the tier's base color (or a single line stepping through tiers, each segment colored by tier), 5px dots with a charcoal ring, values labelled at the end, and the same gold rule and chips for period-over-period rates.

Avoid: shiny chrome effects, bevels, glows, bright yellow gold, more than four metal tones, and 3D funnels.

When you're done, render the chart and check that bar widths are linear in the counts, every step-up rate equals the next tier over the tier above it, the title percentage matches the data, and the metallic gradients stay subtle enough for inside labels to remain readable.
