Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Lollipop Rank" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: an outdoors magazine league table at night. Energetic but tidy: big condensed rank numerals, fine stems and bright heads on a deep forest ground.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #10201A (deep forest).
- Stems: #7FA58F (sage). Heads: #C6F432 (chartreuse). The one featured item: #FFFFFF head, #D7E3DB stem and white labels.
- Title #E9F0EA, names #C3D2C8, secondary text #8FA89A, dotted grid #2E4A3C, unhighlighted rank numerals #4F7A63.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Bebas Neue at 24px for rank numerals, zero-padded ("01"), chartreuse for the top three, white for the featured item, #4F7A63 for the rest.
- Rubik for everything else: title 600 28px -0.3px letter-spacing stating the finding; subtitle 15px; names 13px (600 for the top three and the featured item); values 500 12.5px; headers ("RANK", "TRAIL") 500 10px with 1.6px letter-spacing; axis labels 11.5px; footer 12px.

Layout:
- 56px side margins. Title baseline y 58, subtitle y 86, column headers at y 120.
- Rows about 21px tall from y 132. Rank numerals in a narrow column at x 58, names right-aligned 20px left of the plot, the plot from x 290 to x 840.
- "Source: ..." at the bottom left.

Axes and grid:
- 1px dotted vertical gridlines (1 on, 4 off, round caps) in #2E4A3C at round values, labeled below the last row with a "k" suffix. A 1px sage baseline at zero.
- A vertical median line (1.2px #E9F0EA at 70% opacity) with a small label "Median 19.6k" beside its top.

Marks:
- Bar chart (lollipop): 2px sage stems from zero to the value, 14px (r 7) chartreuse heads, the value 14px right of the head. Sort descending.
- Line chart: draw 2px sage lines with 14px chartreuse dots at each point, keep the oversized Bebas Neue numerals as a rank column at the right end of each line, and draw the featured series in white.
- The featured item gets a small outlined pill (1px white, fully rounded, 9px 600 uppercase text) to the right of its value.

Labels and annotation:
- A 1.5px chartreuse square bracket in the left margin grouping the top three rows, with "TOP 3" rotated vertically beside it in 9.5px 600 chartreuse.

Avoid: thick bars, gradients, glows, a legend, and more than one highlight color besides white.

When you're done, render the chart and check that ranks match the sort order, the median is computed from the data, the bracket spans exactly the top three rows, and the title comparison is arithmetically true.
