Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Listing Sheet" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a premium real-estate agency brochure page. White paper, a soft warm-gray wash across the top, charcoal pill bars and one piece of brushed brass for the featured item. Polished, quiet and expensive.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #FFFFFF. Top band: a vertical linear gradient from #ECE8E2 at the top to #FFFFFF, 176px tall, full width.
- Bars and primary text: #2E2F33 (charcoal).
- Brushed brass for the one featured mark and brand accents: a diagonal linear gradient with stops #D2B07A (0), #B08A4E (0.45), #D2B07A (0.7), #8C6A34 (1), overlaid with 1px horizontal white lines at 12% opacity every 3px for the brushed texture. Flat brass #B08A4E for the big callout number, eyebrow and brand mark; #8C6A34 for the featured category label.
- Secondary text: #77736D. Hairlines: #D8D3CB.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Montserrat for headings: title 700, 30px, -0.5px letter-spacing, stating the finding; brand line 600 12px uppercase with 3px letter-spacing; top-right report tag 500 11px with 2px letter-spacing; featured name 600 24px; hero price 600 62px, -2px letter-spacing, brass; stat figures 700 20px.
- Lato for everything else: subtitle 15px #77736D; category labels 15px (700 and #8C6A34 for the featured one); values inside bars 700 13px; notes 14px; small print 11px.

Layout:
- 56px margins. Masthead row at y 56: a 22px square brass outline with a simple house line icon, the agency name, and a report tag right-aligned. Title at y 108, subtitle at y 136, all over the gray wash.
- Chart on the left (category labels right-aligned at x 196, bars from x 208 to about 610). A 1px #D8D3CB vertical hairline at x 642 separates it from the featured callout column on the right.
- Callout column: a 30 x 2 brass rule and a "FEATURED" eyebrow (Montserrat 600 11px, 3px letter-spacing, brass), the featured name, the hero value in brass, a unit line, a hairline, then three stat rows (bold figure, gray description): difference vs median, difference vs the leader, and rank.
- Footer: a 1px #D8D3CB hairline at y 548, small print on the left ("Source: ..." plus a no-offer disclaimer), and a brass lowercase agency tag with a page number on the right.

Axes and grid:
- No axes, no gridlines, no tick labels. One reference line only: a 1px #77736D dashed (3 on, 3 off) vertical line at the median, drawn behind the bars, labeled below the last bar ("Carrick median EUR 6,975" style, Lato 12px).

Marks:
- Bar chart: horizontal, sorted descending, 26px tall fully rounded pills (radius 13) on a 43px row pitch, charcoal; the featured bar in brushed brass. The value sits inside the bar end, right-aligned 14px from the tip, Lato 700 13px in white (charcoal on the brass bar).
- Line chart: a 3px charcoal line with round caps and joins, white-filled 4px-radius markers with a 2px charcoal ring, the featured point enlarged (r 7) in brass with its value in Montserrat 600 20px brass; a very light charcoal area fill (6% opacity) under the line. Keep the brass callout column on the right.

Avoid: more than one brass mark, gridlines, drop shadows, bright colors, square bar ends, and legends.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the median line passes behind the bars rather than over the value labels, the percentages in the title and callout are arithmetically right, the featured value stays readable on brass, and the footer small print is aligned to the left margin.
