Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Lead Sources" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a bold, modern marketing analytics slide. Plum-black canvas, a wall of tiles in raspberry and lilac, chunky geometric numerals, and rotated labels tucked neatly beneath.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Page: #1B1320 (plum-black), which also shows through as the 3px gaps between columns and segments.
- Segments, bottom to top: #E11D74 (raspberry, the deepest stage) with white labels, #C084FC (orchid) and #E9D5FF (pale lilac) with page-colored labels.
- Eyebrow: orchid. Headline stat in the legend row: raspberry. Ink: #F5EEF8. Muted text: #A393AD.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Unbounded 600 for the title (20px, -0.4px letter-spacing; it is a wide face, so keep titles short) and Unbounded 500 for the in-tile percentages (13px in wide tiles, 11.5px in narrow ones, 10px in short ones).
- Albert Sans for everything else: eyebrow 11px 700 uppercase with 2px letter-spacing; subtitle 15px muted; legend 13px 600; column totals 12.5px 700; y-axis labels 12px 500 muted; rotated category names 13px 600; source and scale note 12px.

Layout:
- 40px margins. Eyebrow at y 50, title at y 86, subtitle at y 112, then a legend row at y 146 with 14px squares (radius 2) on the left and one headline stat right-aligned in raspberry.
- The marimekko fills x 80 to 920, y 172 to 452. Column widths are proportional to each category's total, columns sorted by the share of the bottom segment.
- Column totals centered 8px above each column. Category names rotated -30 degrees, anchored at the end, hanging from a 6px tick under each column center.
- A width scale bar (a 1.5px muted bracket the width of 500 units) bottom right with "Width of 500 leads"; the source line bottom left.

Axes and grid:
- No gridlines; the tiles are the grid. A 0% to 100% scale in 25% steps left of the panel. No axis lines.

Marks:
- Bar chart: variable-width 100% stacked columns with square corners and 3px page-colored gaps between columns and between segments. Print each segment's share in its center when the tile is at least 40px wide and 16px tall.
- Line chart: draw 100% stacked areas in the same three colors with 3px page-colored separators between bands, category labels directly inside the bands at the right end, and period labels rotated -30 degrees beneath.

Avoid: gradients, rounded tiles, gridlines over the tiles, outlines, and a legend placed inside the chart.

When you're done, render the chart and check that column widths add up to the full panel, each column's segments sum to 100%, rotated labels do not collide with each other, and the headline figures in the title are arithmetically right.
