Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Launch Slide" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the reveal slide of a product launch keynote. A pure white stage, almost nothing on it, one vivid line and one enormous number. Calm, confident, expensive whitespace.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #FFFFFF, full bleed, no card or border.
- Ink: #111418 (near-black) for the title and value labels.
- Gradient: sky blue #38BDF8 to violet #7C3AED, left to right. Used for the data line, the hero number fill and nothing else except the eyebrow text (#7C3AED).
- Secondary text: #6B7280. Tertiary text (dates, source, footer caption): #9CA3AF. Footer rule: #E5E7EB.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Sora throughout. Eyebrow 12px 600 uppercase with 2.4px letter-spacing in violet. Title 34px 600 with -0.8px letter-spacing, sentence case, one line, stating the finding. Subtitle 15px 400 #6B7280 with measure, unit and period.
- Hero number: Sora 700, about 118px, -5px letter-spacing, right-aligned to the right margin with its baseline level with the subtitle, filled with the horizontal sky-to-violet gradient. A 14px #6B7280 caption right-aligned under it ("growth since launch").
- Value labels 18px 600 (first) and 26px 700 (last), axis dates 13px #9CA3AF, footer 11px.

Layout:
- 72px side margins. Eyebrow at y 70, title at y 118, subtitle at y 150, hero number top right.
- Plot area roughly x 104 to 812, y 262 to 498. Leave the right 75px of the plot empty so the final point and its glow breathe.
- Footer: a 1px #E5E7EB rule at y 552 across the margins; below it, left "Source: ..." in #9CA3AF, centered a presenter-view caption ("Presenter view · <speaker note>") in #9CA3AF, right a slide counter "12 / 30" in 600 #6B7280.

Axes and grid:
- No gridlines, no y-axis, no tick marks and no axis line at all.
- Only two x labels: the first and last period, centered under the first and last points at y 526.

Marks:
- Line chart: one smooth monotone-cubic line, 5px, round caps and joins, stroked with the #38BDF8 to #7C3AED gradient spanning the line's x extent. A very soft area wash beneath it: vertical gradient from #7C3AED at 10% opacity to #38BDF8 at 0%. First point: white dot r 6 with a 3px #38BDF8 ring, its value 22px above. Final point: a blurred #7C3AED halo (r 20, 45% opacity, Gaussian blur 9), a 2px #7C3AED ring at r 17 and 25% opacity, then a white dot r 9 with a 4px #7C3AED ring; its value label 26px 700 sits 34px to its left, vertically centered. No other points or labels.
- Bar chart: slim bars (about 40% of the band) with 6px rounded tops, all in #E5E7EB except the final bar, which takes the vertical #38BDF8 to #7C3AED gradient and a soft violet glow beneath it. Label only the first and last bars, same sizes as the line labels. No gridlines or y-axis.
- With several series, keep one hero series in the gradient and draw the rest as 2px #D1D5DB lines with direct labels in #9CA3AF.

Avoid: gridlines, legends, boxes, drop shadows on text, more than two value labels, a second accent color, or any clutter that competes with the hero number.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the hero number is arithmetically true for the data, the title fits on one line without touching the hero number, the glow around the final point is not clipped, and only the first and last values are labeled.
