Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Launch Monitor" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: the screen of a golf launch monitor in a fitting bay. Black glass, techy squared type, a readout bar of hard numbers and glowing ball flights in a cool-to-hot spectrum.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Screen: #0B0C0E. Readout panel: #15171B with a 1px #262A31 border and 6px radius; dividers #262A31.
- Series spectrum from shortest/smallest to longest/largest: #8EC5FF, #5ED3C9, #A8DB6C, #F2D44B, #FFAE4A, #FF7A1A. The selected (highlighted) series is always #FF7A1A.
- Text: #E8EAED. Secondary: #8A9099. Gridlines: #1E2228. Baseline: #3A404A.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Chakra Petch throughout. Title 28px 600 stating the finding; subtitle 14px #8A9099. Readout labels 10px 500 uppercase with 1.8px letter-spacing; readout values 24px 600 with units as 12px 500 #8A9099 suffixes; the selected item name in #FF7A1A. Axis labels 12px; axis captions 10px 500 uppercase with 1.6px letter-spacing. Direct labels 10px 600 uppercase in the series color with the value in 14px 600 white beneath.

Layout:
- 40px margins. Title and subtitle at top, then a full-width 64px readout bar split into six equal tiles, with a 5px #FF7A1A accent strip on its left edge. The plot runs from x 88 to 900 and y 200 to 472. Source at bottom left, a small uppercase device note bottom right.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal 1px #1E2228 gridlines; vertical dashed (2 on, 4 off) #1E2228 guides; a 1.5px #3A404A baseline with 6px ticks. A faint #FF7A1A floor gradient rising from 0% to 7% opacity toward the baseline.

Effects:
- The selected series gets a glow: a 6px copy at 55% opacity blurred with a Gaussian blur of stdDeviation 4 (filter region set to the whole canvas) under the crisp line.

Marks:
- Line chart: smooth curves, 1.8px for ordinary series and 3px for the selected one, round caps. Each series ends in an r5 dot (r6 for selected) with a 2px screen-colored ring, and a two-line direct label under its end point. Mark the selected series' peak with a dashed 1px #FF7A1A drop line at 60% opacity and a small uppercase label.
- Bar chart: slim 14px bars with 2px radius in the spectrum colors, the selected one #FF7A1A with the glow, values in 14px 600 white above each bar and names in 10px uppercase series color below, over the same grid.

Avoid: white backgrounds, gradients on the marks themselves, a legend box (label ends directly), more than one glowing series, rounded friendly fonts.

When you're done, render the chart and check that the readout numbers match the selected series, the direct labels don't collide, and the glow is not clipped.
