Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Launch Hero" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a dark launch-day marketing hero for a developer product. A huge headline figure, a spotlight glowing behind the chart and a thin gradient-bordered card, all centered.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #07080F (near-black navy).
- Spotlight: a radial gradient centered just below the middle, #5B4BFF at 62% fading to #3B2FB8 at 24% and then to nothing, stretched wider than tall, plus an ellipse of #6D5BFF at 32% blurred 60px behind the card.
- Beam: a trapezoid from a 100px slot at the top center widening to the full chart at the bottom, filled with #C7C2FF from 16% to 0% and blurred 18px.
- Data: #8B5CF6 (violet) for "before", #22D3EE (cyan) for "after" accents, #FFFFFF for after dots and values. Labels #8B93A7; footnote #5A6177.

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Unbounded 700 for the headline figure (84px, -3px letter-spacing, vertical gradient #FFFFFF to #B9B3FF).
- Inter for everything else: supporting line 18px 500 #C3C8D6; badge 12px 500; column headers 11px 600 uppercase with 1.4px letter-spacing; data labels 12.5px 600 with tabular figures; source 11px.

Layout:
- Centered: a version badge pill (26px tall, white at 6% with a 16% white stroke and a cyan status dot), the headline figure, one supporting line, then the chart card.
- Card: 170px side margins, 18px radius, #0C0E1A at 60% so the glow shows through, a 1px border stroked with a diagonal gradient from violet (90%) through white at 12% to cyan (90%).
- Source and method note left-aligned under the card.

Axes and grid:
- No gridlines. Two faint vertical column rules (white at 8% for before, 14% for after). Column headers above each rule.
- For multiplicative changes use a log scale and say so in the footnote.

Marks:
- Line chart (slope): one 2px line per item from its before value to its after value, stroked with a horizontal gradient from #8B5CF6 to #22D3EE across the gap. Before dots: 4px, background fill with a 2px violet ring. After dots: 4.5px solid white with a 4px blur glow. Left labels: item name in #8B93A7 and value in #B7A4FB, right-aligned; right labels: value in white and the per-item multiple ("3.8x faster") in cyan at 85%. Nudge labels apart to at least 19px spacing so none collide.
- Bar chart: paired horizontal bars per item, before as a 10px violet-at-40% bar, after as a 10px bar with the violet-to-cyan gradient and a white glowing end cap, same label scheme.

Avoid: light backgrounds, heavy borders, more than the violet-to-cyan pair of hues, gridlines, and a legend (the column headers and labels do the job).

When you're done, render the chart and check that the headline figure is computed from the data and explained in the footnote, the glow is unclipped, and no two labels overlap.
