Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Koji Chamber" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a night-shift incubation log in a traditional fermentation room. Deep indigo, quiet cream and pale teal, a refined Japanese serif headline and small gold markers for each hand intervention.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: #111427, with a 1px #252A4A frame inset 20px from every edge.
- Primary series: #F2E6C9 (soft cream). Secondary series: #7FC8C2 (pale teal).
- Event markers and eyebrow: #C9A86A (muted gold). Muted text and axes: #8A8FB0. Gridlines: #232846.
- Tolerance band: #F2E6C9 at 5.5% opacity with a dotted top edge (#F2E6C9 at 35%, 2 on, 4 off).

Typography (Google Fonts):
- Shippori Mincho for the title (600, 33px, cream, stating the finding), the numerals inside marker circles (600, 13px, gold) and the footnote (400, 13px, muted). Also borrow its degree sign (°) wherever a degree follows a number, since the gothic face draws a full-width one.
- Zen Kaku Gothic New for everything else: eyebrow 11.5px 500 uppercase with 2.4px letter-spacing in gold; subtitle 14.5px muted; tick labels 12.5px 500 in the series color at 75 to 85% opacity; panel labels and callouts 13px 700 in the series color; band and marker labels 10.5px 500 uppercase with 1.8px letter-spacing.

Layout:
- 56px left margin. Eyebrow at y 62, title at 104, subtitle at 134. Footer at y 566: "Source: ..." left, a short note right.
- Plot from x 96 to 904. Two measures with different units are two stacked panels sharing the x axis, never a second y axis: the main panel (y 204 to 394) and a shallow lower strip (y 436 to 500). Each panel has a label above it: a 24px line sample in the series style plus the name and unit.

Axes and grid:
- Horizontal gridlines 1px #232846; y labels right-aligned 12px left of the plot. Each panel ends in a 1px #8A8FB0 baseline at 60% opacity. x ticks 5px below the lower strip every 6 units, labels 22px below ("18 h").

Marks:
- Line chart: primary series as a 2.6px cream polyline; sudden interventions drawn as true vertical steps. Secondary series as a 2px teal dashed line (7 on, 4 off). Mark the peak with a 4.5px cream dot and a bold label, and end each series with a 3.5px dot and its value just above the line end.
- Bar chart: slim bars (about 45% of the band) in #F2E6C9 with square corners from a zero baseline, value labels above in Zen Kaku Gothic New 12.5px 700 cream; a second measure goes in the lower strip as teal bars or a teal dashed line on its own scale.
- Events: thin 1px gold vertical lines at 55% opacity through both panels, each capped above the plot by an 11px circle (background fill, 1.3px gold stroke) holding its sequence number in Mincho; one uppercase label ("TURNING") to the left of the first circle.

Avoid: a right-hand y axis, glows, gradients, bright saturated colors, heavy gridlines and a boxed legend.

When you're done, render the chart and check that degree signs are the narrow serif ones, event lines pass behind both panels at identical x positions, and callouts never touch the band edge or the lines.
