Chart Prompts

1,337 ways to dress a line or bar chart, 669 light and 668 dark. Open any chart to see it full size and copy a prompt that gives your own chart the same look.

Every chart uses illustrative data. The prompts work with any coding agent and any charting library; they describe colors, type, spacing and marks precisely enough to reproduce each look.

Prompt for your coding agent

Paste it with your chart's code. It restyles your data to match this chart.

Restyle my chart in the "Isometric" style described below. Keep my data, chart type, title meaning and units; change only the presentation. Use the charting library this project already uses (plain SVG if there is none). If the library can't express a detail, draw it in a custom layer instead of dropping it. Measurements assume a 960 x 600 chart; scale them proportionally.

Mood: a crisp isometric illustration. Every bar is a solid pastel block standing on a floating white floor slab, like a tidy 3D product diagram.

Projection (make it exact): true isometric, 30 degrees. A world point (x, y, z) maps to screen X = ox + (x - y) * cos30 * U and Y = oy + (x + y) * 0.5 * U - z * U, with cos30 = 0.8660 and U = 42px per world unit. The world x axis runs down-right, y runs down-left, z runs straight up. Never fake it with a skew or a different angle.

Colors (use these exact values):
- Background: a vertical gradient from #F4F5F9 to #EEF0F5.
- Ink (title, values): #2B2D42. Muted text (subtitle, floor labels): #6B7089. Source line: #9AA0B6.
- Floor slab: top #FAFBFD with a 1.5px #FFFFFF edge, left side #DCE0EA, right side #C9CEDC, grid lines #E3E7F0 at 1px.
- Each block uses one hue in three tones (top / left face / right face). Assign in this order so neighbors stay distinct:
  Sky #CFE8FF / #8EC5FF / #5D9EF0; Peach #FFE0CC / #FFB38A / #F58D5C; Lilac #E6DBFF / #B9A2FF / #9179F0; Mint #C9F5E3 / #7FDDB8 / #4FBF95; Lemon #FFF3B8 / #FFD966 / #F2B93B; Coral #FFD1DF / #FF8FB1 / #F0648F (reserve Coral for the highlighted or largest bar).
- Callout pill: #FF8FB1 at 22% opacity with #C23A6C text. Highlighted floor label: #D6457A.

Typography (Google Fonts): Sora only.
- Title 30px 700, letter-spacing -0.6px, up to two lines, top left at x 56. Subtitle 14px 400 muted.
- Values 19px 700 ink (24px for the highlighted bar). Floor labels 12px 600 uppercase, letter-spacing 1.1px. Source 10.5px 600 uppercase, letter-spacing 1.6px.

Layout:
- Title block top left. The floor slab sits right of center so its long diagonal runs from upper left to lower right; leave the lower-left corner for a summary stat (34px 700 number with a 13px caption and three short colored dashes in 4px rounded bars).
- Source line bottom left at y 566.

Axes and grid:
- No axes, no gridlines in the air. The only grid is on the floor: lines every 0.5 world units in both directions. The floor is 3.3 units deep and 0.55 units longer than the bar row at each end, with a slab thickness of 0.28 units and a soft drop shadow (blur 14px, 22% opacity, shifted 18px down).

Marks:
- Bar chart: each bar is a square prism, 1.0 x 1.0 world units, with a pitch of 1.9 units along the x axis, set 0.75 units in from the back edge. Height in world units = value scaled so the largest bar is about 4.3 units. Draw back to front (increasing x) so nearer blocks overlap farther ones. Top face lightest, left face middle, right face darkest. Add a 1.4px white line (90% opacity) along the two front edges of the top face and a 1.2px white line (55%) down the near vertical edge. Cast a soft shadow on the floor toward +x (blurred 5px, #6E7695 at 28%). If the data is a ranking, sort ascending along x so the row climbs toward the viewer.
- Line chart: draw the series as a ribbon in the same projection: a polyline on the plane y = 1.25 whose points rise in z, with a vertical "curtain" face under it filled with the left-face tone at 85% and the top edge stroked 2.5px in the right-face tone; put small 0.3-unit cubes at each data point in the three-tone treatment. Multiple series become parallel ribbons at different y depths, back series first.

Labels and annotation:
- Category labels are printed flat on the floor in front of each block, running along the x axis: apply the transform matrix(0.866, 0.5, -0.866, 0.5, X, Y) to the text, centered on the block, about 0.42 units in front of it.
- Values float screen-aligned 22px above the center of each top face.
- A pill callout (26px tall, fully rounded) beside the highlighted value, e.g. "+34% vs Reno".

Avoid: perspective, drop shadows on text, outlines on faces, saturated primaries, dark backgrounds, and any angle other than 30 degrees.

When you're done, render the chart and check that parallel edges stay parallel, no floor label touches its neighbor, no floating value collides with the title, and the nearest block overlaps the one behind it rather than the other way round.
